Instead of debating whether you are a liberal or not, and how you go about assessing standards, why don't you actually SHOW the people on this forum why you should be a credible poster. I'm not saying you are not. But obviously in recent days, many people have voiced their opinions that your credibility (and agenda) here is in question.
DO, don't just SAY. SHOW, don't just TELL.
I also cannot tell whether or not many of your comments are attempts at distracting from the main discussion topics, or that they are valid tangentials.
You say you are moderate or conservative but almost everything you write here is liberal, under the banner of being "fair and balanced." You say you are pro-gun, but on almost every issue, you seem to be anti-liberty and pro-control, and you seem to liberally (pun intended) scatter assorted leftwing ideas here and there, while packaging them up as objective and neutral. Your positions disempower citizens, and empower state control. They are suspicious of people but generous with government.
Unlike some others, I am not accusing you of being a troll or a propaganda agent. But I am saying you need to take a look at what is going on because all this is feedback for you now.
Mahalo for listening.
Than you for being cordial. I should apologize for times that I was not.
I don't intend to derail topics. If I want to talk about an unrelated topic I start my own thread, as evidenced in the one i started yesterday. When I go off on a tangent, I see it as a valid tangent. I am sure there have been a few times where I ended up going off on a tangent that ends up being unrelated but I try to keep it to a related tangent. Others might not see this as a valid tangent, but from my point of view they are. Different thought processes?
When I look at a topic i don't take party lines just because I identify with that party. I do recognize convincing or strong arguments of the opposition. I figure that if I am to defeat an opponent in debate I have to recognize their stronger arguments and address them. As a moderate I will adopt certain ideas from the democrat side and fit them into conservative ideology. Doesn't introspection require one to admit when the other side has a decent argument? This is why I often include disclaimers or counter points to my own arguments.
Sure, I could sit here and spout party lines and party arguments but what is the point? There is no need to convince people here to support gun rights, they already do so that is why you don't hear me making a bunch of pro gun arguments we already know. If you don't believe me, become my friend on Facebook and look at how often I make pro gun points on Civil Beat articles and comments but anti firearm individuals. What is gained by just patting each other on the backs? That is one reason why I will argue against a faulty meme. Repeating it because it sounds good doesn't do anything to benefit our position or advance our cause.
When it comes to firearms specifically I am not one who believes any and all arms should be completely legal. I favor some forms of gun control but for the most part I am pro gun rights. But It seems that there is sometimes a with us or against us mentality. If you are not pro gun enough for certain members you are painted as a liberal or as anti-gun. I stand on what I believe and I don't keep quiet out of fear people will flame my position. If my position cannot withstand attack then it probably isn't a very good place to take a stand.
I am not sure what else to explain my general lines of thinking but I suppose I should refrain from continuing down this side discussion so I will leave this as my final explanation here.
On the topic of the meme, what most interests me is not who fired her or why but whether the person cited really said that she was a liar, unethical, etc.
