Seems like people can TRO you for any reason.

Like having guns registered to you. :wtf:

Whoa... I had that guy as a professor at UH. He was good. Was entertaining and engaging.

Not enough info to know whether he has a civil case against the ladies though.

Certainly illustrates a danger of gun registration.

Don't think the city is to blame. If anything he has a case against the lady.

A HPD officer gave his confidential firearms registration information to a former police officer who used that information to make a false report and file a TRO.

A City employee facilitated the whole thing

There is certainly a violation there but realistically speaking, what difference did that information make?  Whether or not she knew he had a firearm she still would have gotten a TRO against him.

What difference does it make?  (Where have I heard that before??)

The difference is having your guns seized, a possible false claim you made a gun-related threat, or maybe no job if your boss thinks you are making violent threats.  Accusations are good enough to ruin someone's life.  A TRO by itself doesn't do the same damage as "He said he was going to come to my home and shoot me with his AR-15!".

the unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself.
Therefore, all progress depends on the unreasonable man.

Seriously?  So it's not a big deal to release confidential information  because it you don't think it made a difference?  It's confidential for a reason, and it's NOT OK to release it, regardless of the impact of any particular breach.
