So the guy upsetting the (corruption-filled) applecart gets fired. What's the problem? It makes perfect sense that one needs to get the approval of (possible/likely) corrupt government employees to investigate other (possible/likely) corrupt employees. I mean, that does make sense doesn't it? Just like the fox guarding the hen house. What's with all the hate? These loyal government workers are underpaid and deserve to steal, commit fraud and sexual assault as compensation for their paltry salaries. They are, after all, our "public servants".
PS. I bet a helluva lot more than "a dozen" DLNR-seized firearms have "gone missing" in the past 20 years. Probably boating accidents as they were being transported to safe storage.
PPS Preview of post (likely) to appear shortly: "Well, we don't really know what happened. It's possible that some non-government employee (janitor, etc.) stole the guns from storage, and manipulated the time cards, and submitted questionable procurement orders and pretended to be a DLNR officer in elaborate makeup impersonating a real officer who then sexually assaulted someone, etc., etc., etc.."
