LWRC R.E.P.R Help
« on: June 24, 2016, 02:08:41 PM »
Hey guys, I picked up an LWRC Repr awhile ago and I put a vortex pst viper 6-24x50 on her with vortex high scope mounts. Its a perfect optic I might add. However when it comes to maintenance, the objective lens is 50mm making the top rail impossible to remove. My scope rings are 1.26" high I believe. Does anybody know what height I will need for proper clearance to be able to remove the top rail without having to remove my optic every time I want to clean it? Thank you very much  :shaka: PM me if you want

Top rail?  Are you trying/wanting to remove the hand guard?

No i'm good with the rail but to access the piston you have to remove the top rail section. and with a 50mm objective lens its literally a cunt hair from getting the top rail off the slide. i think if i move to a 1.56"  mount it will be good but i wanted to ask you guys before i bought a Larue mount.

Hi.  How long is your scope?  Does it have a removable hood on the front?

From the majority of R.E.P.R. setups I've seen, most mount the scope so the front edge stops just short of where the front rail starts, so the front rail isn't beneath the scope at all.  The front rail section only moves about 1/4" forward when removing, so that gives you maybe one rail notch to overlap the rail and still clear the scope when removing.

Not a great "solution", but it might be useful.  If your eye relief can live with moving the scope a little more to the rear, this might work for you.  Good luck.

Overall length is 15.5" and doesn't have a removable hood. it hangs ways over that break from the upper to the rail. it s the viper pst 6-24x50
