Shows that even on an island the bad guys will get guns.   To me, citizens owning guns is like having a middle class.  Without a middle class everything becomes third world.

Guns are prolific in the UK, The first time i ever shot a real gun was a Makarov pistol behind a bar in Dublin Ireland. Any moderately connected person can get them, a lot of old rifles were readily available. A lot of the guns that you see are conversions, Some one brings in a demilled firearm and repairs it into a working state, For a time in the early 2000's a common firearm was a converted airguns, These airguns stored an air charge in what looked like a bullet casing which also held a pellet, They fired and function very similar to real guns, People would convert them to shoot 22's.

A lot of the firearms i came into contact with had been smuggled in by car on the ferry's from Europe. at the time an AK would cost about $2k . a glock pistol would be around $1500, a sawnof shotgun around $400.

There was also believed to be gun dealers who rented firearms, You would pay a fee and you would be given the gun and ammo, If the gun was returned unfired you would get a partial refund, If you used it you would own the firearm. I read about them in the news but never came into contact with any myself.

Little known fact is dewat blank guns are available over there.  One can get a tommy gun with a welded barrel blank adapted and drill out the blank adapter.  Yes they are full auto.  The ammo is what is hard to get.  Except in Scotland. 12 ga game shells are easy to get

Yep they used to advetise blank firing guns all the time in airgun (pellet gun) magazines, Another one is WW2 Guns that were de milled just by plugging the barrel.
