Fire at KHSC (Read 11049 times)

Fire at KHSC

There is a fire at koko head.  Ranges facing the crater, north, are closed until the fire is put out.  Other ranges are open.  Should open up later maybe in a couple hours.

I think all the ranges are on cease fire now.   I dont hear anyone shooting.

I'm guessing it's a hiker.  Fire appeared have started to the left of the pistol range, about 300 yards out.  But still wasn't close to the trail either.  Maybe lost hiker.

Still a possibility a ND with a tracer.

Speculating about a shooter with a tracer is not helping our interest in the range. Besides you would SEE the shooter who was responsible for the tracer.

Tracers are banned from the range.

Came out of Zi[ppys at 1:00pm and saw the smoke at the range and could not hear any live fire. We were wondering if the fire was actually at the range.

They should close the trail too many people get injured and HFD has to risk their personal safety just to save those who can't make it! 

Also the trail is becoming to unstable and dangerous like the stairway to heaven in kaneohe!  Just close the trail!

Fire must have reignited
Left niu valley after 6:15 and saw one fire truck headed out on kalanianaole, then one on the freeway, then a Suv (fire chief or battalion chief)
