Ammo and airlines
« on: January 24, 2017, 08:19:22 PM »
So my friend, whom is going to Las Vegas, contacted me about bringing back ammo. I told him he would be able to bring back ammo but to print out his airlines policy just in case he is questioned. He contacted his airlines, Omni, and was told as of last week they are no longer allowing ammo on their flights in lieu of the Ft Lauderdale shooting. Any other airlines adopting this policy?

Probably too early to tell. Omni might feel that they would  have a share in the payout when the lawyers get a hold of it. Kind of like the bar having some responsibility for continuing to serve alcohol  to someone that's visibly drunk.

I would find an airline that allows ammo and tell Omni they lost my business.

Go to the Philippines and on your way back home you may be lucky enough to get some free ammo to take onto the plane courtesy of their airport staff.........

OAI is a charter airline and has limited business in Hawaii compared to the other commercial carriers like Hawaiian, etc. They're not likely to lose too much business by 'banning' ammo in checked baggage. I work in the industry and there hasn't been any notification or talk of restricting the transportation of ammo in checked baggage.
