My neighbor was attacked today,
« on: March 23, 2017, 07:37:16 PM »
My elderly neighbor who is almost 90 yrs old was sitting outside her house and was violently attacked with a road cone,

At aproximitly 10am this morning i was outside my house when i seen a homeless appearing lady walking up my street, She was trying car door handles and looking in the windows,

I yelled at her to fuck off with that shit she looked at me and carried on walking, I watched her untill she left the street.  I did not call the police as they 1 would most likely not respond, 2 would probably not find her in the area.

I left for work about 30 minutes latter, At approximately 11:13am the same lady came back onto my street and again stated trying car doors, She tried the door of my neigbours truck and his ederly mother who was sitting on her front porch seen and yelled to the lady "what you doing ? "

The lady picks up a road cone (used to put behind the truck as its parked near a corner) and throws it at the elderly woman striking her in the upper body,

The lady then walks off down the street Another neighbor whiteness the lady coming out of a yard about 1/2 way up the block and entering another, He yells at her and the lady turns and leaves. (he is unaware of what had just happened.

The police were called but did not show.

Hmmmm,  there's been a lady walking on our street (Aiea), with a little dog. She'll look in windows of cars that are parked on the street, sometimes for several minutes.

Dark skinned, short and stocky, with a rugged ass face that looks like it's had too much sun and hard drugs.

What do you mean the cops were a no show?

Is that how it is now, hammer to the head is a burglary and assault is nothing worth investigating?

Too bad there is no wording in either the U.S. or Hawaii Constitutions that would prevent the fascists who are Hawaii's government from infringing on the right to self-defense (for non-geezers too!) by legally bearing arms!

Saw the video on the news.  Law makers don't care about us regular folk.  They won't change the laws (allow ccw) unless it's them who are the victim.

London, if IIRC you live in Kapahulu.    With the feckless state and city leadership we have, as they chase the homeless out of public areas, they'll just regroup in residential areas.  When you bring up this problem to officials, they'll just say it's your neighborhood's problem.   One solution is to make most of these politicians homeless.
Pretty soon there will be a big boom in driveway gate sales to prevent intrusions.  Hate to spend more money but it's becoming a safety issue.   HI politicians care more about criminals, homeless, illegal aliens and questionable migrants with no history from their home country, than it's citizens.

Neighbors on both sides of me have been hit multiple times for burglary, as have homes all around the neighborhood (Mililani Town).

I've been in this house since Dec 2001.  I'm only aware of one failed break-in attempt, and one car break-in in my driveway -- both on the same day (same perp?).

I have a fence around the whole property (required by code for a pool), motion sensor lights, security cameras, a 2-car garage with door, monitored alarm system and dogs.  Current dog is an 85-lb German Shepherd.

If anyone decides all that constitutes an invitation to trespass, he'd better hope I'm not home and my dog is asleep!

I'm on the slopes of diamond head below the new culinary school and we've been dealing with this shit ever since the homeless were kicked out of ala moana beach park.

Christians think taking care of poor people is how they can live like selfish jerks and still sneak their way into heaven by doing the bare minimum, but it's actually a survival strategy for right now. Treat people like animals and pretty soon you will be surrounded by dangerous hostile animals.

There are no absolutes.  Behavior is a choice.  To demean people as nothing more than reactive to others' actions is to remove reasoning and accountability from those you pretend to defend.

Painting people as if they have no more choice in the matter than animals is an insult to their humanity.

Most religions are a set of stories compiled out of much older stories and knowledge. That's why the Bible and Quran constantly contradict themselves by preaching peace and brotherly love in one chapter and then violent extermination of enemies in the next.

There's a lot of practical knowledge contaminated by moralizing (aka brainwashing) and it's more useful to read them like an encoded version of The Art of War rather than the chaotic scrawl of an insane divinity. One main focus of both texts is treatment of the poor, because they both realize both short term and long term social stability depend on an adequate safety net and basic human rights.

Even Hawaii has the code of the Law of Splintered Paddle, which Kamehameha pieced together from previous edicts and then used to boost his own legend. At the time it came out with it he was facing a crisis of legitimacy, much like the State of Hawaii is now, and he realized that he must protect the rights of the poor and destitute in order to gain popular support.

A government that authorizes homeless sweeps while stealing public money and resources through graft won't be around much longer. It will probably take a few pension funds drying up to kick off the real fireworks, because only then will the protected classes start to realize we share a common destiny with those on the street.
