Going on now, honolulu bound at the entrance to Aliamanu middle school. Cops on foot with radar and cops on bikes/cars as chasers. Thanks Pro Bowl.
Relax, I've banned myself..

How does that work?  I thought you had the right to see the speed they clocked you at on the gun?  I know a couple guys who got out their tickets in court because the officer refused to show them the gun.  I am not sure if it was the same judge or any of the specifics beyond the speed not being shown to them upon request.  One excuse the cop gave was that he erased it already.

They are not required to show you the gun.  What they are supposed to do is give you the range/distance they shot you at.  With how small that laser is, my guess is despite aiming it, the gun probably returns the strongest signal off the bunch as it can't be very easy to keep that little pistol laser aimed at a single car at the distances they shoot people at.

the cops were based right where the traffic was starting to ease up, so the temptation to speed was there.  good thing my dd was in cruise mode.

Those are the guys that picked me off on Friday on my way home from duty, I think.  BZ, HPD, set up a speed trap at the bottom of a steep hill where it goes from two lanes to six, and hand out a pissload of tickets 150 yds from a speed limit increase.  There was a guy pulling out as I pulled over, and I was in the way of the next guy who needed to pull over to get his ticket.  Pretty sweet spot for the cops, they don't have to do a damn thing, and they get to write tickets as fast as their little hands can scribble.  Glad I was able to help fill somebody's monthly quota in a single shift.

Fight it =P   - if everyone required the officer to show up in court to testify, they would have every officer in court every single day and no one could patrol the streets lol.  The justice system relies on people just paying their way out of problems.

They were there again this evening!

I've seen a lot more LEO's out doing traffic stops lately.  I'm guessing it must be some kind of Fed grant or something.  Saw a bunch this morning going to work on the H1 viaduct (both on top and on the bottom).  Saw some at UH on the triangle where I have never seen them before this past weekend.

Who needs a fed grant when you can write 10 tickets for 100+ dollars a hour ;)>

While HPD is the C&C of Honolulu, the tickets go to the State.  So more tickets does not equal more money to pay for more overtime for HPD to stay out and watch traffic.  When the Fed grants come in periodically it means the C&C can pay their guys.  The people who really make out are the State who do practically nothing.  How many times you see a DLNR guy enforcing stuff?

What we need is a twitter account (or similar)  that all can post to that will show these locations and any follower can post to and members will get a txt letting them know what is up.

Its time to beat these guys at their own game.  Knowledge is power.

Who is the geek on this board that will get this going?

Relax, I've banned myself..

I was just thinking of this, a Twitter text account that everyone could post to informing everyone else of speed traps.
