“It was a little surreal. I just didn’t get it,” said the mother. “I couldn’t comprehend it, because it looked so real and it did turn out to be real. That, I kind of just shook my head a little bit.”

KHON " We wanted to know how this happened, and if anything’s being done to make sure it doesn’t happen again."

sensationalism much?!

I can only guess that the company's employee dropped it. Nothing much to that. Gravity.

Sources tell us that the gun was registered to an armored vehicle company, and the gun had not been reported lost or stolen.

Smith & Wesson 38 special revolver  ??? I really like the Model 10 but I'm surprised an armored vehicle company guards still carry them. It didn't look like they unloaded defensive rounds from it.

Maybe they don't use them anymore, and all the guards were supposed to turn them in.

Perhaps the gun was reported "turned in and destroyed", like the HPD weapons they refused to sell to the public.  After that, could it have become a black market item?

Fun to speculate.   :D

Um, don't leave a loaded pistol in a shopping mall parking lot?

Why doesn't that make me feel any better? Like the blind leading the blind.
