Anybody know how I can get a key or unlock this old vintage cabinet latch?

I should have clarified...
The clasp is locked open and I can't latch it to secure the door.

Time to replace the latches (and get new keys)?  If it's open now, you should be able to remove the screws in the picture.

Sure I could. A new latch would cost 10 bucks.
But look at the wood behind the latch and tell me what you see.

a lot of those type keys are exactly the same, so try any similar keys that you or friends/relatives have

OK, it is a beautiful piece of koa wood. I wanted to keep the piece as original as possible.

Maybe suit case keys? Try make a key with a large size paper clip, put a short bend on the end and flatten it with a hammer so it fits the key slot.

Could pry it open, undo the screws then bring it to a locksmith. Then you don't have to worry about the box getting further damage.

There is one screw hidden under the lever which is locked.
I knew a locksmith years ago but I can't remember his name dammit!
