Freight forwarder? WTB powder
« on: October 18, 2017, 08:56:27 PM »
I need some RL26 and RL33 on the BI.

Anyone have some names of freight forwarder who will ship powder? Or any other tricks to get it here?

Or anyone have some?

Air freight acts like gunpowder spontaneously combust, it's less flammable than the jp8 that plane is full of I tell ya...

Unless something has changed recently, you can ship powder. You just need to pay the hazmat and shipping fees.

People I talked to at Powder valley said it had to go USPS to a freight forwarder then take the ship over.
UPS or FedEx have a different route?

Hmmm. Here on Oahu a bunch of guys combine and place one big order to split the cost. I'm not sure about the freight forwarder, I'm not the one placing the order. Hopefully someone can assist. I know some of the orders went through Powder Valley though.

Even if we had the powder you were looking for on Oahu, I don't know how it could be shipped to Bi without the hazmat fee.

Thanks flapp, I know that loaded cartridges and raw powder fall under different rules for shipping.

Maybe if I just have em jam a bullet into the cap and tape a primer to the bottom of a few 8lbers it's loaded ammo then and can be shipped air freight

Powder Valley will ship Fed Ex Freight from Winfield, Kansas to Aloha Freight Forwarders in Compton, California for the trip over the ocean. Powder Valley arranges everything and they have excellent service.

Thanks! I'll try giving powder valley a call again, if not aloha freight.

I just had an email from powder valley about a HAZMAT special.   Not sure if that would apply for Hawaii though.

Have you tried calling Kona Reloads? I don't know anything about them. Maybe they can special order you the powder? Or maybe they will share the name of the freight forwarder they use?

Prime Sports told me the other day that he's putting together a powder order and can include special orders. Not sure if/how much Young Brothers would ship the powders to the BI.

I pre-ordered powder with Henry before. The price was so cheap, service was great. Highly recommended.

I would think from Oahu to bi I'd still have to pay an additional hazmat and ocean freight? Unless I bought a car and shipped it in the trunk or something lol

That's been known to happen but no one here does anything illegal, supposedly.  >:D
