It seems that even with a Republican controlled Congress and a President - the 2A is being shorted.
The silencer and CCW bills are likely dead and gun control regs are in the works.  :grrr:

The RINOs are stymieing everything, with McQueeg there to seal the deal.

The failure to repeal Obozoscare was over the top.  Those liars promised to do that for so long........

Paul Ryan's refusal to bring these bills to the House floor is a major reason why these bills are stalled.  Our political system allows one person to have way too much power.

More like no political will to go down that road now - with Health Care and Tax Reform.

On a positive note, HR3947 & 3999 (bump stock  bills) are also dead.

It is a good move to hold off on the CCW & suppressor bills for now.  Makes for bad press and the GOP doesn't need anymore bad press right now.  It wouldn't pass in the Senate right now anyways.  I'm sure it'll be back next year after everything cools down with the republican and democrat votes to pass it.

The CCW and suppressor bills were ready to be brought to the House floor over a month before the Vegas shooting.  Paul Ryan held it up saying it was not the right time.  I have very dim hopes of a national ccw bill being passed and NO hope for a Hawaii one.

Also on that note, the supreme court isn't taking any firearms related cases, despite having a majority likely to be gun friendly.

--------------------------------

I like how 1 asshole messed things up for everyone else.  Did he use silencers?  no.  Did he use his CCW (super easy to get in vegas) in commission of his mass murder?  No.

Such BS

And I love how Hawaii openly flaunts defiance of concealed carry, which all states are required to have with a "may carry" law, yet issues 0 permits.

------------------------------------------------

On the bright side,  this happened around a month ago, not sure if it was mentioned here.

http://www.foxnews.com/us/2017/09/29/concealed-carry-ruling-could-help-put-gun-issue-on-supreme-court-agenda.html

Quote
In a win for gun rights activists, a federal appeals court on Thursday let stand another court’s ruling that it was unconstitutional for Washington, D.C.’s local government to require licensed gun owners to provide a “good reason” for legally carrying a concealed weapon in the nation’s capital city. The ruling potentially sets the matter on a path to the U.S. Supreme Court, because other federal courts have reached varying decisions in similar cases, the Washington Times reported.

----------------------------------
The city’s current law says that resident who want to legally carry a concealed firearm must first demonstrate that they have “good reason to fear injury,” the Post reported, adding that living or working “in a high crime area” was not necessarily a good enough reason.

Quote
]If you can show valid reason to fear injury to yourself or to your property, go to the police department in your county of residence. If you cannot, per Hawaii law HRS 134-9, you won’t even be considered for a concealed carry permit. Bring the following items to the police department:

DC, like hawaii hides behind the "fear injury" provision in the law.

DC is not appealing to the supreme court, so CCW is legalized there.

I'd like to get one more supreme court nomination in first.  Probably a 60 percent chance of getting through right now.  Not the odds I want to go with.

In my opinion most politicians are like horny teenage boys.  They will say whatever they have to to get inside a girl's pants then once they get it............well you know the rest. So really no big surprise there :shaka:

Also you have report after report getting released from the Pentagon basically screaming that the next few years will be increasingly hostile due to climate change fueled social unrest, loss of U.S. hegemony, food shortages due to depleted soils, and local insurgencies funded by foreign governments turning dying cities into urban battle zones. A lot of soldiers and police are being indoctrinated with the Fourth Turning philosophy and have increasingly come to see domestic populations as a hostile force, pretty much guaranteeing a backlash and lots of collateral damage. It's kind of a no-brainer that many Republicans would slowly step back from their pre-election statements once secure in office, especially considering they might be held accountable one day for their part in putting the nation on it's current trajectory.
If you dissolve your enemies in acid, technically that's turning your problems into a solution.
