Price going to be sky-high, but Anschutz Custom Shop is coming out with a similar rifle

My biggest issue with this is that the butt stock seems to be permanently attached. I'd rather have a chassis that I can use any butt stock like a XLR, Magpul or Luth. With the RPR many were tossing the butt stock and replacing them. You can't so that with this and it seems to be similar set up.

Bushido,

Try look at the Anschutz in the XLR stock in my posting...... is this the stock you talking about?

After watching vids on the rifle, I think this just got moved up to the #1 slot and kicked out MP5SD 22.   And because of the price.

sorry i showed up so late to the 3/31 HDF day.  if i had showed up earlier, i would have let you shoot it.

i learned three things from the HDF Precision 22LR day:

1) this gun made me appear to be a better shooter than i am;

2) the gun continued to operate very well in rain, dirt, and mud--i didn't notice any degradation of performance; and

3) cleaning all of the dirt and mud out of this gun takes a really long time

i actually picked up a bunch of boxes of Green Tag, SK, ELEY, and Federal.

A part of me wants to try the match ammo through the gun, but match ammo is really expensive.  i don't want to waste good ammo until i become a better shooter.  or maybe i'm just being too pake.

Saw you and the rifle yesterday at Kokohead.  Nice looking rifle.

Although Kokohead was breezy yesterday and not conducive to shooting premium 22LRs, you should see what the rifle is capable with premium ammo...

Im really thinking of this rifle. I was given this scope as a gift. The scope would look funny on a 10/22.

Yes esk, it does look like a XLR Buttstock. There are some companies that are selling knock offs though. I doubt Anschutz would put an imitation on their rifle.

Not really. You should see what we have on our precision 22s. Some are running 50x plus magnification.

Mr. Change, this is one but it's getting some work on it at the moment. In the pic, 8-32X mounted.

Nah, will look fine.

I have a Kidd 10/22 in the Magpul-22 stock,  and I mount an NF 8-32 x 56mm Benchrest scope on it (with even the lens shade)..... looks ok to me.........

it really depends on what you plan on using the gun for.  if you're bench shooting and you're chasing the tightest group possible, then it might help to have higher magnification.
during the HDF day, i dialed my scope back down.  i was primarily using lower powers, like 4x through 7x.  the lower magnifications are helpful in finding targets faster.  lower mags are especially helpful when shooting off of less stable positions (barricades, ladders, etc.).

i think ideal scope magnification range would be 3x to 25x for a precision 22.  the problem is, most of the scopes that go up to the max mag in the 20's usually have a min mag of 6x; the scopes that have min mags lower than 6x are way more expensive.

Choosing an optic ALWAYS comes down to intended purpose, what one may consider accurate as well as other factors. For benchrest shooters, they can do much higher magnification than most. In 22 PRS and NRL22 matches, the Sightron 10-50X is very popular. Being able to focus down to sub 25y and high mag is needed. They are shooting match sticks and playing cards sideways as well as longer range targets under MOA. --- NRA Smallbore as well as Rimfire Silhouette shooters use pretty high magnification scopes as well. I have many scopes in various ranges, even when shooting offhand/standing, kneeling, sitting I rarely dial under 10X. Maybe just me though.
