Werent the dead trees left because some preservation stuff CA wanted? And the forest budget was cut a lot.

Heard a discussion that CA had over 100 million dead trees, and the state refused to remove them for "ecological preservation" reasons.

The catastrophic wildfire risks were written about all over the media and Internet, including Leftist sites like Vox.  So, it's not like Commifornia was surprised.

If I lived in the fire regions, I'd be suing the state for YUGE bucks.   :wtf:

Then there are the Leftist rags trying to blame decades of forest mismanagement on Trump.  Basically, a budget from his first year in office was the reason CA had so many dead trees.

I could be wrong. I am quite often. If what I heard is correct, most of the land that burned is federal land. My understanding is that CA gets funding from the federal government to maintain federal land by removing dead material and cutting down a certain percentage of trees. Particularly sick and dead trees. They want the forests kept thinned to prevent super hot and fast burning of the forests in case of fire. Makes sense to me. But Governor Brown vetoed a CA bill that provided those services in 2016. My question is what happened to the money (our tax dollars) that CA is supposed to use for keeping the forests clean?

While the state didn’t cause the fires, the state is responsible for how hot and fast the fires burned by not keeping the federal land and state owned lands cleaned and thinned.

While this was a dumb thing the president said, the main stream media is so desperate to make Trump look like a dumb hick that they spent way too much time blasting him for this comment. They will do anything to try and humiliate the POTUS. Shameful that they allow their hatred to continuously do this. Really immature attitudes.  >:( >:( >:(

Environmental groups pressurised the governor to veto a bill that would allow forest management.  They wanted the natural un disturbed beauty.  The governor took it a step further and refused to release federal funding for forest management.

Sounds like the money went toward the high speed rail instead of clearing out the forests. It will be interesting to see if angry, rich land owners can overcome the restrictive air quality preservationists.

The President does sound like a dumb hick (thus the purpose of this posting) preferring to place blame rather than giving support and providing solutions like a true leader. OTOH, it is California so who cares about those dumb fucks. I had the chance to move to LA in 2012 and turned it down. Nice place to visit but wouldn't want to live there.

I don't feel that bad honestly, because these people voted for the politicians in CA.  Granted there are a handful that didn't and got affected by this.

My friend who lives in Vegas said that many are moving there from CA due to being taxed to death.  They're selling their million dollar homes and buying multiple in Vegas.  So housing market will climb soon in Vegas.  Again many elected their own fates.  Hopefully even though Nevada is a blue state, they still have common sense.  Like no bump stock or any firearm laws created since Pollack went ape shit.

Unfortunately, Hawaii has a similar destiny also, if not already.

Also heard Trump is withholding funds because of CA's mismanagement of money.  He's doing a Syria.

WINNING AGAIN.

But of course the fake news takes the  tweet out of context.
Of course they do. And the hatred is so strong by some towards Trump they won’t stop harping on such a minor statement. Especially since Trump is right and those who tried to humiliate him now admits he was right. I guess they think they never say dumb things.

Trump now supports Pelosi because he knows this is his best chance for winning a reelection. He needs to be careful because with 53 GOP Senators, there's a chance that the Dems can get both chambers and the presidency in 2020. The loss of Dean Heller was a yuge blow to Trump. After the 2010 election, Congress was able to gerrymander the map so that in 2018, the GOP was able to retain State majorities while losing the popular vote. If the Dems get both chambers, they could do the same after the 2020 census leading to a liberal majority for the next ten years. The GOP is swimming in deep water for the next two years.

^^^This, he knows Pelosi is a moron and will just make the DNC look worst.  But this also shows that he is willing to work with a moron.

I'm waiting to see the first press conference with Acosta.  Hope they put him in the back of the room.

Judge is bias.  Imagine if he did the same to the judge.  Constantly interrupted and wouldn't shut up during a hearing...

I heard an explanation on the judge's ruling under the 5th amendment grounds and I don't think the decision was because of bias. The judge might have a bias however there is case precedent for the decision.

I do get the argument that was made and I did find it compelling. Basically it was that if the government gives you a permit/license for something they can't just take it away without some sort of appeals process. At least that is what I understand the argument to be.

So....   the government cannot revoke your firearms permits without due process just because some Kaiser pencil pusher will niether confirm nor deny a person is 'fit' to own and possess a firearm...  🤔

I don't know how these people can maintain a straight face that the end game isn't total civilian disarmament. I know, "honesty" is the last item on their list of priorities... it's just... how can they maintain that straight face while so obviously lying?

How about the WH restores his press pass, but denies him entry on property?  Because if a judge rules he must be let on site, then shall all reporters be let on site for what ever reason?

Personally, I think the 5th amendment argument is BS as the WH determines who has a pass and who doesn’t. But the WH is following the judge’s order. They are also putting into place a certain set of rules/decorum for the press to follow so if Acosta et al decide not to abide by the rules then the WH can remove their credentials by going through the process put into place. In that way the WH could argue they went through the due process of removing his credentials if Acosta tries this shit again.

Acosta and a few others have turned our press into a circus. What a joke.  >:( >:( >:(

I recall a report that Acosta accosted (or at least put his hands on) a female WH staff that was trying to get the mic back.  Wonder who Mazie would back up then. . .
