Even the stopped clock is right twice a day. In Gabbard's case that might more properly be once a year. This is that once a year.

If someone had told me in 1966 that "In 2018 cannabis will still be a Schedule 1 controlled substance (same category as heroin and meth, etc.) and the feds will be enforcing that law the same as now" I'd have asked "What you smokin'?"

The only place I disagree with Gabbard on this is "I urge my colleagues to support H.R. 1227, the Ending Federal Marijuana Prohibition Act, which would decriminalize marijuana by removing it from the federal controlled substances list, treating it the same as alcohol and tobacco." It shouldn't be "treated" the "same as alcohol and tobacco". It shouldn't be "treated" by government at all. Neither should alcohol or tobacco. Is the government going to tax every goddamned thing we consume or do? (Rhetorical question).

And her argument about "states rights" being violated comes in handy for her to support Hawaii's total ban on bearing arms in public for self-defense via the fraudulent "may issue" de facto "no issue" policy... thus her "no" vote on national CCW reciprocity.

If someone can verify this, I read that since CO has legalized MJ, they have way more money to spend.  This initial spending on the taxing of MJ was to go toward the schools.  Now that's been accomplished and they still got lots of left overs, they're going to use it for the homeless now.

I never thought CO could make that much tax income.  They have a 15% marijuana tax + 2.9% sales tax + county taxes run from 0 to 4%.

Could be a good tax fix for Hawaii.  Though I wouldn't expect lower taxes overall here, they'll just squander the extra money.

Trump was right to enforce the laws on the books, but the Fed Marijuana ban should end.
