A few things I took from the article:
1. The author made the assumption that the US has a high homicide rate when he presented one of his charts. Not sure if I agree with his assumption. However, it really doesn't make a difference in his argument. I don't like assumptions being made without them being pointed out.
2. Australia has more guns now than before they started the confiscation program. However, most of those are not semiautomatics. To me this sort of supports the gun control proponents idea of banning the AR-15 and eventually all semis.
3. I learned quite a bit from this article even though I don't like using Wikipedia for statistics as they are very unreliable. He did use the FBI stats for some of his charts which IMHO is the proper thing to do.
4. The UK shows a very low gun related homicide rate no matter which chart it is in. However, if you use their total homicide rate and compare it to other countries they come way up. In other words, they have a fairly high homicide rate if you include vehicles and knives, etc.
5. The author changed my mind about the argument of more guns equals lower homicides. And less guns equals less homicide rates. Assuming his data is correct.
Thanks for presenting this article.
