I shoot my Glock 19 better than any other pistol.  That said, I also draw from the holster and dry fire it 10x more than any other pistol.  Id be willing to try a M&P but cant get over the lack of positive feel/audible click of the trigger reset; if S&W fixes that they will have a customer.

Have probably put at least 500 rounds thru my new glock 17 Gen 4.

Not one problem what so ever. What ever problem they had with the new spring is gone as far as I know....

Took a little bit to get used to the "trigger safety" but all good! (always shot S&W's before)

Great and recommended gun!

been shooting a glock 19 & 26 for the past 8 years. recently got a full size 1911.  at first i was shooting the 26 way better than the 1911 (50 yd steel). needed to change my grip, properly grip the 1911 which is a very differnt grip than glock. once i paid attention to proper grip with the 1911, my shooting got better.  with the glocks, i can just grab the gun and not think about the grip.  with the new 1911 , i have to think about the grip.  i just need to put the time into the 1911 to get comfortable with it, also need to do some wieght training as a full size steel gun is heavy!

my conclusion, its not the guns fault.... its like mac vs pc.  cant shoot a glock?  practice with the new grip and put 1000 rounds downrange. dont expect to shoot any new pistol as well as what you are proficient with right out of box.

i guess if you are lazy, blame the gun.  as it applies to bullseye shooting, i can't comment cuz i don't do that.

My Gen 4 Glock 22 (.40 cal.)  stove piped and jammed 8 out of 10 rounds for the first 4 mags I ran through it using cheap CCI Blazer 9mm ammo (using a conversion barrel). It kept doing that until one of the ROs walked up to me and told me I was limp wristing it. I quickly took off my 5" pumps, kicked them aside and started holding the gun like a real man and the gun was fine with no further jams. I changed the RSA after Glock announced it was replacing it for free and did not experience any further jams until my brother came out to shoot for the first time. The gun jammed once. I can't remember if it was FTF or FTE. I told him to stop wearing his sister's panties and to hold the gun like a real man. No further mishaps occurred after that.  Not sure if he took my advice about the panty thing.

I doubt the gun would jam if it was used for its intended purpose of firing .40 caliber rounds instead of 9mm but I don't know because I shoot 9mm almost exclusively with the gun. The combination of using a weaker round with a weak grip is, at least in my mind, are major contributing factors, if not the sole cause, behind the FTF and FTE.

One thing I don't like about the gun are the grips. The grip texture has a tendency to tear my hands up after putting a lot of rounds downrange. Been thinking about wearing a fine leather glove to see if that helps. Anyone have the same or similar experience with the Glock or with wearing a glove?

Nope, I'm a man.
Your number one Option for Personal Security is a lifelong commitment to avoidance, deterrence, and de-escalation.

Someday someone may kill you with your own gun, but they should have to beat you to death with it because it is empty.

Can't shoot my gen4 g17 straight either.  I have an xd and it shoots good.  Noticed when i dry fire my glock, the slide moves vertically at the rear. Maybe i got a lemon,  goin to sell it  and get a sig 226.
