Help with a Winchester Rifle

I got a co worker with a old Winchester rifle. He says he had it for over 20 years. Can anyone help identify this rifle? What would be a fair offer? Thanks for your time.

The manufacturer should be able to give all the specs if you provide the serial number.  Some gunsmiths / collectors also know what the serial numbers tell you -- manufacture year, etc.

What caliber is it?  Can you take a pic of all the markings and post them?  Any additional information like that would be useful for getting a better answer versus a ton of guesses.

The caliber is .30 - 30 as for any marking Ill have my friend send me some. Its a model 94.

If you can find out the approximate date of manufacture (like pre/post 1964) I can look it up in my value guide. That should give your friend an idea.

If it is a model 94 you can get the date and info for it easily off the web.
I cleaned up an old Parker Ranch( custom made for Parker ranch) rifle for a lady, 
Found out it was made in 1900.
She would not sell it.

That's a very nice gun!  Love the case hardening finish, thought they need quite a bit of care to maintain.

I like older lever guns.  My aunt was going to give me a Winchester 94 30-30 that a friend gave her as payment on a loan almost 30 years ago now.  I was around 10 then, so my my said no.  She eventually gave it away to another friend.  It was NIB gun and with the octogonal barrel.  I've wanted one ever since, but in .357 Mag.
