I wouldn’t be a member of this forum if I hadn’t been lied to by one of the registration desk cops about having to bring a stripped lower back to update registration after the rifle was completed.

It was more important for the three cops behind the counter to get together and present a unified front against me than admit they were wrong when they initially couldn’t agree with each other.  One couldn’t seem to figure out the difference between a stripped lower and an 80%’er.

It was not a positive experience. I’m happy to let them know I’m displeased.

Well below is the feedback they'll be getting from me that I posted in the other thread a day or two ago.  My feedback is going to be that they should man the firearms divisions, both sides from 8AM - 430PM.  If they're having trouble processing the mounds of paperwork they're requiring people to do, then maybe they should lobby to cut back on some of that bullshit.  Let people register online, and only have to come in when they need to bring the firearm in.  If people is only doing permits, there should be no need to visit the police station at all.

All my firearms are stored out of state. The ones I keep local are pre-1899.
You are stupid if you register anything with the cops.  They are not your friends!
The one thing that drives me nuts about this site is assuming Cops are ethical
and trustworthy.  They are union goons doing their jobs keeping the Government
safe, wealthy,  and in power.
I'm still waiting for a reply to my request for a permit to carry.   I'll probably get a Colts
Dragoon.  No registration required, deadly, and cost effective.

Out of all the City employees, I think they are the hardest working. I don't see other City employees put their lives (or career) at risk .  They get a lot of heat because they are a part of the political system as well.

This survey is for HPD in general.  While their firearms division is included, that is a small part of what they do. 

Personally, I have had neutral to very positive experiences in my "personal contacts with HPD".  I haven't had any bad experiences.  Well, I've gotten into many heated arguments with one officer in particular, but he's one of my best friends and usually when we're both drunk.  Haha

I would say even with the firearms division, I've had at worst neutral interactions and have even had some interactions where they've been more helpful than they needed to be.  Like anything in life, there's the good and the bad.  Just like working at a gun shop, you have the good customers and you have the jackasses that know EVERYTHING. . . I bet it gets old after a while.  Not defending the firearms division for some of the stuff I hear folks being put through.  No excuse for that.  Just I've never been treated badly by them. 

From all the patrol guys, 99% have been very helpful, only 1-2 pricks. 

At registration, 1 officer was giving me a hard time about my CCW.  See previous post, but now he's cool.  He just didn't know that anyone could apply (non-military/feds), but being approved is a diff story.  Another officer had to explain it to him.  He was confrontational at 1st, but was cool after (like 30 seconds later).

So overall I rated them a good score, but in the comments blasted the chief and our judicial system.  Cops arresting same guys all the time.
