I waited almost 3 hrs and I didn't even make it to the door.     And even if I made it to the door there was another line that wrapped around the inside of the store.

I pulled in around 1:40 pm if I really wanted to get my fingerprinting done that day I would have had to wait until 6:00 pm.

They brought another person to do the fingerprinting but the process was extremely slow and there were more people there than they thought would come I'm assuming.

Sounds like there was enough interest to warrant another drive.

Maybe next time they'll have a better idea of the time needed, and they can stop people from getting in line once they have the max?  Just a thought.

Just out of curiosity, does anyone know or have a guess at how many people got fully processed and how many more were turned away or left because the wait was too long? Did this get any media coverage? Should have.

Maybe if there is a next time, get  sign up list online.  Then let them know what time to show up.
I agree there should have had media coverage.  Blown opportunity to show how many people are interested in legally carrying.

Hello guys we had a total of 54 people process that day.  I am sorry to all that waited in line and wasnt able to process that day.  I didnt expected that much turn out when we started this drive.   It's my fualt for not  planning it better but we had 17 walk in that day.
So going on forth we will have another drive but this time we will have a time slot listed out for you and you would have to come in prepay for a slot.
Thank you for your support..

we wasnt trying to do PR...we wasnt trying to make a stand or point. We just want to process people for ccw and we seen to many people get rip off for the same ccw. Which is free and dont need a class. So to those people charging to teach ccw and giving out az ccw shame on you guys.

Good effort.  Good to see lots of demand even though it didnt work out for many.  Better than no demand.

These kinds of things should be applauded for people thinking outside of the box anx trying new things to benefit the community.

Me and my wife were fortunate to get our fingerprinting portion done in the shop. Here's a suggestion, is it possible to utilize 1 of the conference rooms upstairs to conduct the screening of documentation and have an ACTUAL table to do the fingerprinting? While standing outside Prime Sports, neighboring businesses were concerned that their doors to their shops were being blocked due to the line that extended down the walkway. Customers had to maneuver thru the line to get thru to where they were going.
I would have to say in my honest opinion the ladies that were doing the fingerprinting could have done it better. Agencies that require fingerprinting cards done the old fashioned way with ink pads have strict standards on the way it is conducted. The print NEEDS to be in a BLOCK pattern, meaning that the finger(s) need to be "rolled" edge to edge on the ink pad then "rolled" edge to edge on the card. The ladies were lifting the ink pad to the finger(s), rolling the finger(s) and then using a white block "peel & stick" type method (rolling the finger) and pasting it to the fingerprint card. Looking at the result of doing that may cause most of the cards to be rejected by the investigating agency as the latent prints are NOT FULLY or PARTIALLY "blocked" as required.
There is an actual LATENT FINGERPRINTING KIT that is packaged in a "tool box" with everything you need to conduct the process.
I just hope that none of the prints that were taken yesterday are "REJECTED" and the application process goes smoothly. If there are ANY REJECTIONS WHATSOEVER, what is the FINANCIAL recourse of those patrons that "PAID" for the service?? Can the fingerprinting be done....FREE of charge due to the prints being REJECTED the first time and conducted in the right way?? or REFUND of money paid for the fingerprint service.
Any future events like this should be carefully planned and executed to prevent un-necessary confusion and extended wait times.
Assigning "times" to return to the shop won't resolve the issue, it won't help the wait-times. Because of the unforeseen numbers of those that participated yesterday were large, perhaps by utilizing the conference room upstairs , find out the capacity of the room and take that number, for instance....let's say the max capacity of the room is 50 personnel, minus out the personnel assisting with the service let's say 6, so 44 people can apply for the CCW for that given day. Use social media....FB, IG and other platforms to reach out and take 44 reservations that PREPAID and done. The conference room will provide a closed environment to the public, less distraction and interruption to neighboring businesses. It'll also provide a definite number of applicants that will be processed.

If you want people to prepay, why not have the applicant stop by the fingerprinting offices first?  They can get printed, pay for that service, and then call Prime Sports to schedule a time to complete the application.  That way you don't have to have everyone show up for a "drive".  Just schedule a convenient time for the customer to meet at the store with his completed fingerprint card and other documents.

Unless there's a reason for your shop collecting the $40 for the fingerprinting fee, it makes more sense to segregate that part of the process so it's more flexible for everyone.

You could also do the "drive" for people who haven't had a chance to get prints done beforehand.

If you're not interested in the PR, then a drive really had little benefit other than assuring the fingerprinters are working the whole time.

FYI
Prints are not required to be taken by  "a license and bonded official finger print services".
https://www.azdps.gov/services/public/cwp  (This same site offers the application form)

"Note: You must utilize the "Applicant" fingerprint cards provided by the Department.
Some police agencies provide fingerprinting services for a small fee (DPS does not). Call your local police agencies for inquiries. Regardless of who completes the fingerprinting process for you, the prints must be clear, distinct and classifiable. Do not place tape over the top of the prints!"

The "STANDARD'   print card is the FBI BLUE FONT FD-258

Also be sure to check  the "written agreement" of the other state if that state has a written agreement with AZ.
There are some states that will only accept the AZ concealed firearm permit so long as the permit holder is a resident of AZ,  a resident of the reciprocating/recognizing state or a plethora of other rules.
Be sure to contact the respective authority within that state.

Other states may be, if you'll pardon the expression, 'liberal" with their reciprocating/recognizing of other state's agreement, written or not.

ROCKY it may say that on the paper BUT would you trust your prints to anyone that is not bonded or license to do so?
Sheryl and Donna has been doing this for many many years i trust them when it come to finger printing.

Yes very poorly managed, especially for those that walked in as there was no mention of a pre-payment (at least not in this thread) nor was there a mention of 2 forms of ID.  I know you guys at least promised to see those that were still in line at the time.  But I was NOT trying to wait 5-6 hours as I had to work later that night.

Sounds like there was way more of an enthusiastic response than was plannned for. It’s always difficult to anticipate these kinds of things and it’s good to hear that  there is a plan for next time.

But come on even though it’s frustrating you have to see the positive side. Probably close to 100 people were prepared to show up for a ccw license. That means there are plenty more who were interested and couldn’t make it or didn’t know about it in time. That’s some political power waiting to be tapped right there,
I’m becoming clinically undepressed and thinking about beginning it all.
