KHSC - Rifle Side < 50 yards?
« on: November 23, 2018, 07:20:35 PM »
Sorry if it's already been asked, but can we set up targets inside 50 yards? I want to shoot a regulation target frame at 25 yards and I have a wood base to stand it in. I've seen both yeas and nays on the forums, the most discussed issue/safety concern being the formerly-sand-filled bullet channels. Thanks in advance  :shaka:

There’s some holes for 25yd targets at the far right side. I’ve also seen people place target stands before the 50yd line, so probably just get approval from the RSOs.

That’s typically the black powder side, ya? Thanks for the tip!

Only open on weekends. It's very steep and probably covered in tall grass these days. They let us put a target up at 25 yards to zero our .22 firearms only. Zero means less than 50 rounds. I shoot my 1911-22 with reddot at an orange spinner. Len likes it and was showing it to someone last week as an example.

So .223/5.56 @ 25yds would be a no go? I’m zeroing MPBR for my red dot.

No, 50 or 100 yards only.

The ROs are always very helpful if needed.

Look into HDF open shoots to zero that close on the Saturday at the end of the month.  It's posted in their club forums.

Or zero at 50 and calculate the elevation adjustments for 25.
