tillamook, no offense to your friend, but the prices on his website for "bulk" ammo are pretty terrible. even if the price were to include shipping and tax, those prices would only be about the same as ammo prices at local gun stores on Oahu. for comparison, the prices at the semi annual gun show on oahu are lower than the price on that website.
his prices should be much lower than hawaii prices simply because he is on the mainland and there is a lot less cost added for shipping/freight/hazmat.
there are local companies that would probably be willing to organize a bulk ammo order for the Big Island.
What are current ammo prices on the Big Island for common calibers?
if people can post some of the "Cents per round" price for the following calibers, it would greatly help give us Oahu people an idea of what you're currently paying for plinking ammo:
223 Rem or 5.56mm Nato
308 Win or 7.62mm Nato
7.62x39 (AK ammo)
9mm
40 S&W
45 Auto
22 LR (brick price)
12 gauge (bird, buck, and slugs)
This is a public forum. most of us BI guys don't like or trust
cops so you won't get a good ammo price quote on this site.
I will say you can get mainland prices if you
bend the rules. I never bend the rules!
Keep at least 1,000 rounds for every gun you own.
There's about 1,400,000 registered guns in Hawaii
and about 3 times that un-registered( my anecdotal count).
Hawaii population is about 1.2 million.
You Oahu guys should be more respectful.
