Walther PPQ

Anyone have one?  Your thoughts?

My friends are nagging me to get something more modern. So my choices have come down to:

Walther P99
Walther PPQ
FNP-9
H&K P30 (expensive!)

I have arthritis so it's hard for me to hold a lot of pistols for long periods of time.

While I haven't had a chance to try a Walther PPQ, I did have a chance to try a FNP-9.

It was alright in single action but the double action trigger pull was horrendous.  Can't say I was a fan of the ambidextrous decocker either, as it kept interfering with my grip.

Why are those your only choices?
Your number one Option for Personal Security is a lifelong commitment to avoidance, deterrence, and de-escalation.

Someday someone may kill you with your own gun, but they should have to beat you to death with it because it is empty.

They feel comfortable. I have shot the P99 and like it.

What's your suggestion?

I really want to try a PPQ, but the cost of mags is ridiculous. At around $50-70 per mag, it will get pricey to run the gun, especially since I want to use the gun to shoot USPSA/IPSC. So Glock will be it for now.

S&W99 mags work in the PPQ. Just have to be the newer ones. Not old ones. Aftermarket ones are $30 or less

i have a p30 and it's currently my favorite handgun that's not a 1911 lol.

I also own a walther pps and while it's not a p99 or a ppq, i'm hearing a lot about how walthers have the best out of the box striker fired triggers on the market.  If the PPS is any indication of how their other guns are, i believe it.  My PPS has a much nicer trigger than any glock, xd or m&p i've ever fired/dry fired.

Good luck with your decision.

speed bought the PPQ a long time ago and he loves it
i , too, have a P30
speedie let me shoot the PPQ a few weeks ago at the silhouette range
trigger is awesome compared to a stock P30
i have a 10 lb wolff hammer spring and a light FPBS, so my DA pull is much better, SA pull is improved
reset still sucks, though

ppq ergonomics are pretty good
lower bore axis helps a bit too
but snob factor is way higher on the P30  >:D
and the PPQ is just too ugly  :shaka:

Both are pretty guns!

I still prefer the PPQ over the P30

Is that how long it takes to get a PPQ?
