Damn HP in NJ illegal.  Guess they don't care about a head over penetrating and hitting your neighbor.

well if way back then, long time ago, hollow-points had been marketed as "Urban-Safety" or "Dry-Wall Stop" ammo or something like that, with advertising that shows the baby in the crib next door being safe from over-penetration, then NJ would probably be banning FMJ instead, as military-use-only ammo.

"Common sense gun control" ...

https://www.njsp.org/firearms/transport-hollowpoint.shtml

Quote
These conditions for use and transport of hollow nose ammunition are consistent with the legislative intent to
restrict the use of such ammunition to a limited number of people. It is well established that in construing a statute
exceptions are to be "strictly but reasonably construed, consistent with the manifest reason and purpose of the
law." Service Armament Co. v. Hyland, 70 N.J. 550, 558-559 (1976). The State Supreme Court has "characterized
the Gun Control Law as 'highly purposed and conscientiously designed toward preventing criminal and other unfit
elements from acquiring firearms while enabling the fit elements of society to obtain them with minimal burdens.'"
The reasonable man adapts himself to the world;
the unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself.
Therefore, all progress depends on the unreasonable man.

I saw that.  I did some quick research and I can't seem to find any regulation that restricts ammo in DE.  I did see that there are laws that place same restriction on ammo as gun ownership, so I'm guessing that the person in question wasn't a legal gun owner and thus ammo possession, despite being HP, was also a charge.

When we were in Vegas, the wife wanted to buy those Ripit rounds cause they looked super cool.  But told her, cannot bring anything back that segments upon impact.

I think Gold Dots “look cool”  ;D

Bushido Arms had some new “headed” ammo last time I was there. Seemed interesting and reports seemed to be good performance.

And in NJ it's a 5 year mandatory sentence...per round. So that guy will die in prison. Sad state and sad state of affairs.
I'd rather have a bottle in front of me, than a frontal lobotomy.

What do you want to bet the various NJ police agencies are exempt and carry HP?

Whatever, NJ is like NY, a place I plan to never go even as a layover.
