Didn't know the military stopped using celox powder or the sponge a while ago.

No tampons either.

Believe Gunny Swagger was the last known use of the granule form of the hemostatic agent in 2007.

I suspect standard procedure was to use the clotting agent in conjunction with regular gauze.  The advent of combining the hemostatic agent into the gauze was a definite innovation, however, clotting agents could still be used when coupled with standard packing if that was all you had.
