That's a strong accusation.  I assume you have more than a personal, racist, biased opinion to base that on?

It does not take a Hawaiian to read your and only SOME others' posts on this thread to see the very intense hatred towards Hawaiians, their cultural/religious beliefs, and quest to restore their nation from illegal occupation.

It does not take a genius to read your posts on this thread to see the very intense hatred towards non-Hawaiians who don't placate those who use Hawaiian cultural/religious beliefs as excuses for illegal conduct, and who don't agree the STATE is illegally occupied.

Typical.  "If you don't agree with me, you must hate all Hawaiians."

Your irrational posts are really starting to show a pattern of major emotional distress.

Ok, I think I got it figured out.  A real Hawaiian is actually a Tahitian.  Language is similar.  A Tahitian friend of mine knows the meaning of a lot of Hawaiian words and names because of their similarities.  Centuries ago people from Tahiti and a few other South Pacific islands discovered and started populating these islands and became the Hawaiian people.

You can insult me and the prevailing beliefs of Hawaiians, but you can't mask your incessant attacks on the Hawaiians who protest TMT, who are also working to end the illegal occupation of Hawaii, as well as your admiration of former President Barack Obama.

I still can't get over your positive feelings for anti-gun President Obama.

No one hates Hawaiians. Some don't agree with your argument about this illegal occupation.

With all due respect, Ren, I know you disagree with many positions I take; but you do so without using those issues as a cover for something else.  I know you do not hate Hawaiians, but I can't say the same for SOME OTHERS who have posted in this thread.

In this thread, you have to admit that there were some posters that crossed the line between offering an opposing view towards the protests to TMT as well as the issue of Hawaii being illegally occupied by the US and using those two items as a pretext to vent their true hatred for Hawaiians and anything they stand for.

Just one second.

I am not saying you are doing it, but I am not the one of some in this thread who use PROFANITY and RACIAL ATTACKS to get their message across.  I have presented differing Hawaiian positions, but I HAVE NEVER BEEN UNCIVIL OR THREATENING TO ANYONE

I can't say the same for some of the replies I received in this thread.

 Long and short:

Sovereignty is a pipe dream.

The Hawaiians feel like TMT is a unifying cause for the bigger cause, but put all the different groups in a room and they can’t agree on a dang thing.

Dept. of interior tried it twice. Got no where in dialog.
Kau Inoa?
Hawaiian Constitutional Convention ?

Nope.
Just damn the Man and give us back our sovereign independent Kingdom/Republic. (Can’t agree on Kingdom or Republic)
Pipe Dream.

And I like Hawaiians. Went to Waimanalo High School.

Re: TMT:
1.) Rule of Law. Lawbreakers should be dealt with accordingly. They can protest on the side of the road or at the Capitol but they shouldn’t be able to block the road and break the law.  (Illegal American Law....hey that’s the world and reality we’re living in. Basically lump it or protest from jail if your going to break the law)
2.) it’s a telescope. Once it’s built it’ll sit there quietly and respect the mountain.

Just my opinion.

Thanks for your concern.

I could suggest similar treatment for yourself, given your secret admiration of Punahou's most famous graduate, Barack Obama; but if you like him, that's your business.

"So im against the TMT and understand all points made BUT what about the fact that they want to build a telescope near an almost active volcano (Mauna Loa).. wouldnt using dynamite near a volcano be very dangerous and unpredictable?? Ive never EVER heard of anyone building or using dynamite near a volcano that's near another volcano (kilauea) which until recently was flowing prettyy heavy. Does anyone know the "Science" of using dynamite near a volcano??? I once watched a documentary that said if Mauna loa erupted it would cause a Tsunami that would wipe out the island chain in minutes with the wave going OVER diamond head.... any thoughts?? Someone who understands geology please helppp"

I see stuff similar to that all the time and just hope and pray that it is satire posted by our side to mock the stupidity of so many of the nearly-illiterate "progressives"... but alas, fear that it is indeed genuine stupidity on display. And, if it is real, we don't have a chance.

So, no dynamite was used to build the TWELVE previous telescope observatories?

Since the Astronomy Precinct was established on Mauna Kea in 1967, there have been no eruptions of Mauna Kea.  There are 5 volcanoes on Hawaii Island:

Kilauea
Mauna Loa
Hualālai
Mauna Kea
Kohala

The first three are active, Mauna Kea is dormant, and Kohala is extinct.

Quote
Mauna Kea last erupted 6,000 to 4,000 years ago and is now considered dormant.

This information is freely available on the Internet.  No need to consult UH, USGS or your local Kahuna.

According to news releases a few weeks ago, no TNT or any other kind of explosive will be used in the construction of the TMT.
