They should be fined?

But who exactly is "they".
Is there a legitimate person or organization responsible for the protesters?
They likely wouldn't technically qualify as a defendant in a lawsuit, but you could try NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness).

UNBELIEVABLE! They actually enforced a law! I'm stunned.

Only two arrested for their vigorous expression of "kapu aloha".

EDIT: According to the article many people were "shouting" as the building was being deconstructed... I hope to see that video soon with full sound so I can hear just what "kapu aloha" sounds like.

How much in Union Labor and equipment rental is the demolition and disposal of that building going to add to the tax payer's costs?

Prob cost way more to demolish than build, even if the building labor wasn't volunteer.

I should have put a bid in for 1/2 of what they wanted.  Push em close to the hot lava and let it burn to the grown.  No demo clean up either.

they enforced the law and took down the structure bc if they didn't, the state would face fines, not the protesters

They should have just torched it in place and let everyone watch.

The comments online are hilarious.  Protestors crying their flag got cut in half and that's illegal.
When asked who will enforce that law they claim the UN.

Anywho sounds like there was a week advance notice that the structure would be removed

Mayor Harry Kim told Hawaii News Now the county doesn’t know who built it so the property owner, the Department of Hawaiian Homelands, is responsible and could be fined more than $1,000 per day.

in the video, you can clearly see who is constructing the building

put a link
or type a general schedule
When I was at the range today, I heads about a big traffic jam headed to Hawaii Kai around 1ish. I wonder if that was part of it.

There was traffic on H1 wear around UH on the way home, but figured it was regular afternoon traffic.

Interesting. I wonder how the “they will all be in a single lane and obey all traffic laws” thing will work out.

I will be at my home away from home in Waimanalo watching football.

Nice!

I’ll be headed to HK (opposite from planned protest path) for some football, bbq and beers. Hope it’s all cleared by then.

Virtually everything they do lends credence to the absurd claims of "illegal invasion", etc. by 1. supporting it directly or indirectly, or 2. not taking action to stop criminal activity or 3. as in the press conference today, Ige, the AG, and the DOT spokesperson apologized profusely multiple times for inadvertently "harming" the flag the criminals had nailed to the plywood blocking the door to the illegal structure. I thought they might start crying. Had Green been there he no doubt would have wept uncontrollably. Disgusting.

EDIT: OHA chimes in to the blubber and whine fest:

"...the particularly offensive way todayʻs selective enforcement was carried out, which included the wholly unnecessary sawing of a Hawaiian flag, is deeply troubling, and further adds to the trauma of the Native Hawaiian people and could have escalated an already tense situation."

How can "kapu aloha" be "escalated"?

Let's understand this.
An illegal structure was erected on the land with no EIS and OHA is crying about the desecration of the State flag erected by miscreants?
And now we law-abiding folk have to tolerate a protest movement via a car & truck cruise? How silly is this going to get? How is this "nation in distress" and "traumatized" again?
I will post this to show what a nation in distress looks like:

not in distress:

and OUR USA in NOT in distress:

and this is what we will miss out on:
