Yesterday was indeed INSANE!!!

I was in the 22 lr section again along side hnl.flyboy.  It was awesome to see many fathers bringing their sons and/or daughters out to the SSF!  The 22 lr section also included some BB guns for the little ones and that seemed to be one of the most popular stations.  I didn't know what to expect when I was assigned the 22 lr station, but I have to say that I really enjoyed it!  I think I must have had as much or maybe more fun that the people stopping by.  It was great to see many of the same faces coming back through to try different guns or even to try the same gun with multiple mags.  Our loaders had a tough time keeping up with some of the guns they were so popular! 

Thank you to everyone for coming out to support the HRA.  The turnout was tremendous and it was awesome to see the level of interest in shooting sports in Hawaii is quite strong!

I was working the pistol caliber range. Saturday I worked the script line and Sunday I reloaded magazines all day. It was a total mad house there. Our most popular guns by far were the Glock 17 and 21, Sig 1911, Kris V (which kept blowing out its extractor and finally gave up Sunday morning), and the Thompson. But the most popular guns were the Desert Eagles in .44 Rem Mag and .50 AE. You should have seen the tiny women walk up and put some guys to shame!

I have no idea of the total, but just for 22 rifles, we put about 5000 rounds through two popular guns.  I think we went through at least two cases of 22 lr just with the 22 rifles.  I think we had cases of about 5500 rounds.  I think the 22 pistols went through pretty close to the same amount as well. 

The AKs and RPD must have burned up at least 10 cases of 7.62x39.

How would someone go about donating a firearm for next year?  I have a friend with a chrome 6" Chiappa Rhino (see attachment) who would be willing to lend it out.  Anyone know who he should talk to?

One way is to email Daniel Oshima at kaneohegs@aol.com. He helps with HRA side and can most likely help your friend contact the  right people.

First, thank you for thinking about helping us out via lending a gun. Unfortunately such a generous offer would have to be declined unless your friend was willing to be onsite for both days. As you may know, in Hawaii you may not lend a handgun to anyone. It sucks, and we'd otherwise be glad to take you up on such an offer....
