I thought it was fine to mail guns, just handguns directly to an FFL.

If it's a rifle or shotgun, mail it to yourself..

We can ship hand or long guns to a ffl ourselves if the receiving ffl is cool with it.  In this case, the potential buyer's ffl only takes guns from ffls.

Partially correct... If sending a firearm out of state, it MUST go to an FFL or an authorized agent (usually LEO). Only FFL's or authorized agents can "mail" a handgun through the USPS. Long guns can be mailed by anyone.

When dealing with handguns, I'd do FFL-to-FFL for 2 reasons: 1) it gets documented, 2) the transfer fee with postage usually comes out cheaper than doing UPS or FedEx on your own.

For long guns, I just have the buyer send a copy of their ID with a signed bill of sale. Then send (USPS registered mail) it to an FFL of their choice.

**Mailing to yourself becomes illegal if someone else receives it at the destination. Meaning, you can not mail it to yourself c/o of someone else. You can send it to yourself, requiring your signature.

We can ship hand or long guns to a ffl ourselves if the receiving ffl is cool with it.  In this case, the potential buyer's ffl only takes guns from ffls.

I'd make the buyer cover the fee on both ends or find an FFL that will accept.

ETA: Last time I checked (about a month ago), Carter said he'd do it for $20+postage.

I would of sworn the last time I asked him, he said $40 to have him ship out.

Its $40 plus actual shipping, $25 for LE or Military
All firearms to ship out must be legal in destination state, and registered in Hawaii accompanied by copy of registration.

If your firearm is illegal in Hawaii, ie assault pistol or such, but legal in destination, we can help you get it logged with HPD and then shipped out of the state cleanly and legally.

We get a huge fedex discount that we pass along.

Need copy of bill of sale, your registration, the recipients FFL copy, recipients name and #, and the rifle packed up and ready to ship but not sealed so we can check the serial.
We will NOT call the recipients FFL to get a copy, you have to either have it or have it sent to us.  At $25/$40 it would cost us money to spend the time tracking down the FFL cert.

Pistols are a little more complicated because we have to get a permit from HPD and you have to sign it before we ship so you stop in and drop everything off then come back next business day.
All outbound pistols cost $40 each due to the two trips.

You can legally ship firearms from yourself to yourself as long as you are the actual shipper AND recipient who both SENDS and RECEIVES the firearms.

Changes of ownership or possession must take place with at least the receiving party being an FFL.
anyone can ship a gun to an FFL in their state or another as long as the FFL is okay with that by their policy.

We require a copy of shippers front and back of valid and complete state or federal ID and a bill of sale as our policy.

Wait...so you mean I got the LE/Mil discount? And all this time I though you just liked me.
