My wife and I first moved to the Big Island the end of October, 2008. My hanai brother and his family (they also live on the Big Island) flew to the mainland for Thanksgiving that year. We had no family to spend Thanksgiving with. So our first Thanksgiving in Hawaii was a picnic on the beach. Except for being with family, having Thanksgiving on the beach on the Big Island is the best place in the world. When we arrived, there was a large family of locals having their Thanksgiving on the beach as well. Within a few minutes two HUGE guys came over with some food and green bottles and invited us to join them and their family for Thanksgiving. We knew at that moment that we made the right decision to move to Hawaii. The people here are what makes Hawaii special.

Mahalo to everyone who came!!! Everyone here is the best of the best that lives Hawaii. I’m not sure what I did to deserve this, but I want you all to know I really appreciate it. The food was great! The shooting was fun! The company, the best!!!

I was afraid to show up to this based on the title: “Inspector shoot and potluck...”. First thought is they are going to shoot and eat me like Captain Cook!!! No wonder people go missing on this island never to be seen again.

Just kidding.  I really enjoyed your friendship over the years.  From common experiences in work and shooting, as well as expanding my shooting horizons with meeting up with the black powder guys.  You will be missed here, especially at the range.  Make sure to carve out time to keep up here.

Yeah. That’s my “coffee” cup.
I think it fell off the tailgate/bumper.
Wash it three or four times then boil it and you can probably use it. (At your own risk of course)

Actually, left it as an excuse to be at the next get together.
