Sent emails alerting to contact Senators to oppose bills. Mine is Senator Ruderman. No response. My guess is that he will to vote to pass the bills.

Problem is so many people in Hawaii don’t know enough about how our government works (including me). These politicians run unopposed with no accountability because the people here are so clueless. Very frustrating.

Yup. It seems like the dems really do anything they'd like, unopposed.
Give them nothing. But take from them, everything

I got nothing from Kidani but I will make sure that when the MTA has their election i will go stand and tell everyone she does not want them safe because she favors criminals over constituents

If the bills have a grandfather clause and no registration how will they determine when a magazine was bought and therefore “illegal”? The law is already dumb and unconstitutional, but does it even do anything?

California is currently in that predicament before the Duncan lawsuit and during the appeals.  What would a grandfathering law do?  The stores would stop selling them.  New rifles would come with 10 end mags.  Any transfers could be subject to prosecution.  Wouldn't be able to buy them online.

I'm trying to figure out what happens when someone moves to Hawaii with magazines, like military.

What would stop someone from buying mags out of state, taking them apart and bringing a “parts kit” back and then reassembling them here and claim they are grandfathered?

3/3/2020   S   Report Adopted; Passed Third Reading, as amended (SD 2). Ayes, 23; Aye(s) with reservations: none. Noes, 2 (Senator(s) Fevella, Riviere). Excused, 0 (none). Transmitted to House.

Wow. We got twice as many votes as I was guessing! A full 8% (eight percent) of the Hawaii senators actually are NOT traitors to their oath of office to follow the constitutions! Amazing!

HPD is not inspecting shipping containers or mail or bags at the airport otherwise there would not be a war zone of illegal fireworks in Honolulu every New years.  If they cant block shipping containers full of fireworks how are they going to find a couple of mags in a box?  Its an unenforceable law just like you can 3d print magazines and receivers and DIAS without any way to restrict it either.   Print a mag and order a replacement spring (or make your own).

All it is is just more time to stack on a prison sentence if something else happens and you need to defend yourself.

Nothing, because they are not magazines, but parts kits.  The only way of really knowing is if there is new mag or new gen of a mag.  Like in CA, the gen 3 pmag came out with the window.  That was obviouslly not around pre mag ban.

But what helped CA was the 1 week of freedom.  Now people can say they purchased the gen3 PMag during that week, and it's grandfathered in.

I know someone who had a friend on the mainland mail him standard capacity (more than 10 rd) magazines for his handgun.  It is impossible to prevent +10 mags from getting to Hawaii, much less so on the mainland.
Stupid law enacted by stupid people.

SB 2635 - Grovelor needs to be our sacrificial lamb as he only has his firearms shipped in when he wants to shoot. That way when he can't buy ammo he can sue the state for infringement.

Called Keohokalole first thing this morning, got  some woman. Asked if my emails had been received. 'Yes'   Why did I not receive any acknowledgement of the emails I had sent regarding these bills? "Because the bills are too controversial' ??? Asked how Keohokalole voted on these issues 'I'll have to look that up, he voted aye but that doesnt mean it will pass, they have a long way to go."  Why would I not think these bills will pass if my Representative is voting in favor and wont discuss his reasoning with his constituents when they inquire? 'He held a meeting to discuss these issues at Windward Mall food court a few weeks ago' Why did he not notify and invite those who sent emails opposing these bills' *crickets*. 'I will pass your message on to the Senator' Oh? What is my message my message to the Senator? *click .... dial tone*

They are all clowns.

2 no votes (Fevella and Riveire) out of 25 on each of the 3 bills.  I knew it would be low, but not that low.  Rivieres (North shore) voted against some gun control bills in the past so it's good he's solid this year.

At this point our fight is with keeping grandfathering in the mag ban and support the Duncan v Becerra lawsuit and injunction.
