SIG P365 Any 2aHawaii owner opinions?
« on: April 01, 2020, 04:27:42 PM »
Just got this today.

Can't shoot it until Kokohead opens up....... maybe May 1st  :'(  ???

In the meantime, would appreciate any opinions of P365 owners who have shot their pistols...........

Going to send it to grayguns.com for action tuning and straight trigger... waiting for them to tell me to ship the pistol.

Thanks.

Awesome compact! I have the Lipseys edition, and like it better than the Sig 938 ands Glock 42.  :shaka:

Don't own one, but have shot one.  I like the small size of the pistol.  Grip angle is nice.  Can't go wrong with ten rounds in a package this size.  Like the sights.  Grip texture is OK

Things I didn't like.  I thought the grip a little too small.  I have maybe medium size hands, I felt like getting the right grip would need some getting used too.  Not sure why, but not as "naturally pointable" as some other small handguns I've handled.  The trigger is a typical Sig trigger, not my preference, but it works.  A bit snappy on the recoil, but manageable.

I have a Kahr CM9 to compare it to.  Out of the box the Kahr seemed, to me, more "naturally pointable", less snappy on the recoil, and easier to handle.  The Kahr grip texture on the front and back strap is very aggressive, and becomes uncomfortable for me after about 50 or so rounds.  Kahr's recoil spring and slide manipulation is much more stout than the P365.

I only had maybe 50 or so rounds to play with the P365, so maybe with more trigger time I might have a different opinion.

Hard to go wrong with 10 rounds in about the same size as my Kahr with only 6.  That being said, after handling and shooting the Sig, I didn't feel like I wanted to go get one to replace my Kahr.

It's a good gun, IMO

I bought two of my P365s in the Summer of 2018. It did have it's growing pains in it's first year. One of P365s did have stovepiping issues even with a death grip on it. Keep in mind the serial numbers on mine is in the 50,000s. Your serial number is probably over the 500,000 mark. Two years SIG must have worked all the kinks out of the design already. SIG did fix the issue for me and never had any problems with the first one since. The second one I have never skipped a beat other than operator induced malfunctions.

I remember the first thing I did for each was run them through a 1k case each of PMC 115gr 9mm because of the fears that the firing pins would break within the 800 - 2000 round mark because of the primer drag issue back then. Firing pins were fine after a case of 9mm each. I wasn't satisfied so, I cooked up some very controversial hot ass 9mm and fired 500 rounds of each through both. No problems.

Skip to today both are it's second set of recoil spring assemblies, and extractor springs. And it's original firing pins. Keep in mind my firing pin hasn't been updated like yours probably is so my spent cases still have primer drag. Yours most likely won't. I quit counting once both guns got up to about 2500 rounds.

I'm a not normally a SIG guy but man I really enjoy shooting it. It doesn't feel like a micro gun when on the gas pedal. Very accurate (best group I got was 2 inches at 25 yards with Federal HST 124gr +P), and shoots like a bigger gun.

My guess is that yours will totally be fine. I frequently visit the SIGtalk forums to see if there is any new issues popping up with the 2020 production P365s. It's been very quiet on that website concerning problems with the gun. Too bad you won't be able to shoot it for awhile, that must be painful lol. Hang in there brother. May I suggest a ton of dry firing and hand cycling the slide to break it in.

I almost bought one. I do not have large hands but it felt a little too small. You cannot argue with having 10 rounds in such a small package.
There were issues reported with this pistol after heavy use but then again the whole purpose of this pistol is to be more of a carry gun and not
a range pistol. I may still buy one after all of this corona craziness is over.

Thanks Jaynick..... I'll keep it as a last resort....

I just went to their website:  $26.00 per box of 9mm and $15.00 entry fee, probably GET ...... close to $50.00 to shoot 50 rounds at 808 Gun Club.... I'll wait for Kokohead to reopen.....

The tan cerakote looks really nice, but I wanted the P365 with the manual safety.
This pistol has no grip safety or "safety" trigger like the Glocks.... only the trigger.......

Good concealed carry gun. Would recommend getting the 12rd (of course have it blocked to 10) magazines for it, makes a big difference. If you have really big hands then try the 15rd (again have it blocked) magazines.  Had some minor issues during initial break in but after that was all good.
