Unfortunately it looks like riots have a high level of coordination going on with piles of bricks and flammable materials being deposited in strategic locations. Also there is video evidence of agent provocateurs, activists paying looters to target certain locations, and a network of bicycle scouts directing mobs to places where police do not have a presence. It is difficult to say exactly who has the most to benefit from this kind of chaos, but if we end up with a heavy handed police state overreaction and permanent suspension of constitutional rights then a lot of big tech and military contractors would enjoy record profits enforcing the New World Normal. The evidence that most strongly points in this direction is the mainstream media insistence of describing them as protestors when the line has clearly been crossed into criminality, and continued effort to defend Antifa while misdirecting the blame to white supremacists. It all has the potential to spectacularly backfire however, now that we are seeing the outpouring of support for constitutional freedom, especially small businesses that successfully defend themselves while their neighbors lose their livelihoods and in many cases become victims of violent assaults.
If you allow government to break the law for an "emergency" they will create "emergencies" to break the law.

There are stories out about makes individuals not from the community breaking windows and starting fires, like the umbrella man,  who was supposedly LEO, bicycle helmet guys stacking and birthing pallets.
There's even reports of random pallets delivered in the middle of the night of bricks in some cities.

It is also questionable why some governors and mayors are not activating National Guard. It is like they want the riots to continue in order to make Trump look bad.

Question is why?  This Hawaii, they only elect Democrats.
They toss in a token RINO once in a while.

I'm still trying to figure out why he destroyed
the Hawaii Tourist industry for the foreseeable future.
That has nothing to do with Trump.

In the 1970s one could own a house and raise a family on one job and still have "discretionary income". Now even with multiple jobs a family is one bad month away from being on the street. Standards of living have declined across the board to the point where the United States is a third world country punctuated by affluent cities, so pointing to strip malls surrounded by a landscape of economic devastation just makes you look kind of delusional.

The reason one income could support a family is not related to race.

It's related to how the tax code and inflation have shifted to where it takes two middle-income wage earners to do the same.  There is also the "consumerism" that's taken root, where everyone has to have the latest model of everything to be fashionable.  I didn't grow up with

Cable TV
A COLOR TV
A TV in every room
A phone in every room
wireless phones
PCs
WiFi
The Interwebs
flat panel TVs and monitors
Refrigerators that do more than keep food from spoiling
15 appliances in the kitchen
5 appliances for hygiene
Pizza delivery
Color Laser Printers
FAX machines
More clothes than I can wear in a month
Air beds that adjust for each sleeper's comfort
Cars and trucks with digital music, 8 speakers, massive woofers, backup cameras, power inverters, etc.

and the list goes on.

If you compared your "needs" against your "can live without" expenses today, you'd probably still be able to support a family on one income.  I did it for 20 years, putting 2 girls through college on my own -- something that wasn't an option for anyone in my income bracket in the 70s.
The reasonable man adapts himself to the world;
the unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself.
Therefore, all progress depends on the unreasonable man.

I sort of agree, but I think it's more complicated.
Americans in general, are spoiled and influenced to spend money on non essential items.
Therefore low income households squander their way into self imposed poverty.

Eg. Ghetto-rich folks who live in slums yet are driving escalades

I want my...

along with an unlimited data plan and fast internet for my home.

I remember in the 80s all we had for entertainment was a color TV....cable TV was a luxury.
Now luxuries are necessities...internet for all, WiFi for all...internet access racial disparities etc.. etc... lifes not fair... we need a fair life....

There is an enormous price difference between a house and the average American's typical pile of consumer crap. It is not like they can take their Escalade and smartphone money and go buy a condo.

How many people went bankrupt for medical bills or got stuck with insane amounts of debt over a worthless degree in the 1970s? Once the drug war started and NAFTA destroyed their jobs, the only way many of them could keep their heads above water is black market activity. This combined with a corrupt court system designed to subsidize the private prison industry drove up the prison population to levels that passed the Soviet gulags. Families were destroyed and left only gang members as role models. Law enforcement with a long history of human rights abuses and racial profiling leave them with a simmering discontent which explodes from time to time.

What Flapp is doing when he compares his experience with theirs is saying that his culture is superior and ignoring the entire body of sociological and anthropological evidence of state-sponsored oppression and injustice based on skin color that continues to this day.

What Flapp is doing when he compares his experience with theirs is saying that his culture is superior and ignoring the entire body of sociological and anthropological evidence of state-sponsored oppression and injustice based on skin color that continues to this day.

That observation is what sums up those who think the protests and civil unrests happening are a joke or some kind of manufactured conspiracy.  Instead of looking deeper to the reasons for the actions taken, it is this mentality that leads those with that kind mindset to write the protestors off as spoiled, non-industrious individuals, who demand and enjoy living on government handouts.

Are there forces using the prevailing civil unrest for their own power interests?  Certainly.

But the underlying currents that have led to these civil unrests are very real and the powers that be are still not listening or even care.
