HPD has received multiple inquiries about social media posts saying that mainland agitators are on Oahu to participate in local protests. HPD is aware of the posts and will be taking appropriate actions where warranted. There are also rumors about a medical facility being told to prepare for large numbers of injured protesters. This rumor is false.
Mahalo to everyone who has participated in the rallies and marches and peacefully exercised their right to free speech. Officers will continue to be present at all events to protect everyone’s safety and constitutional rights.

they are there to protect everyone's constitutional rights
what about the 2A, that's part of the constitution too.  but you guys no believe in the 2nd amendment.  protesters have more rights than us.

Curious if these outside agitators thought this through. Making trouble in a place where the only way to leave is the airport makes exit strategy tricky. One way out not good for them.

No riot you fakas lol.

I drove by the march on Kapiolani Blvd today.  Looked peaceful and they were chanting BLM stuff the whole way.  It's usually paid leaders or progressive organizations that organize and lead the marches.  Vast majority were wearing masks but no social distancing.  Amazing how fast that changed.  I do support everyone's right to protest and it's good that they are trying to do something about it, even though I disagree with their movement.  Police abuse and racism is a serious matter that needs to be addressed, however blacks should be focusing on crimes within their own community which is like 99% of the problem.

I'd like to know more about how the event was organized.  Did they get permits or special accommodations from the city?  There was choke cops along the route, blocking off the streets, directing traffic, and performing special traffic enforcement.  Are they getting paid special duty by an organization or is the city doing it for free?  Would the city make special accommodations and provide free special duty to any protest especially when they're broke?

To solve a problem, you have to first define it.

The main problem isn't law enforcement brutality.  It's crime.  If the criminals would stop breaking the law, maybe the police would become less powerful?

That's how gov't usually gets power.  They convince the public a major problem exists, then tell you they have the solution -- "just vote for me and donate to my campaign & party".

Really?

Is anyone to believe the millions of Americans, including many cops and military personnel, that have come forward in support of the protests happening all over the US as well as the millions of other people all over the World must be wrong and the pro-establishment fascists who believe that police brutality does not exist and they can ignore the rights of the individual, like yourself, is right?

It's crime.  If the criminals would stop breaking the law, maybe the police would become less powerful?

This has nothing to do with the death of George Floyd who was murdered by Chauvin, while his fellow fascist goons did nothing to stop him.

Police brutality plain and simple.

What is the solution then, get rid of the government?

Hey guy you "triggered me"
"What is the solution then, get rid of the government?"
The Democrat party one YEAH!
This is supposed to be America.
Although you personally want it to be some Racist
Hawaiian Kingdom.
Realistically we are a Democrat party
oligarchy.  Where Democrats do as they please
regardless of that pitiful American Constitution
says.
You think your kingdom was overthrown by white
guys from the mainland, then why do you bend your knee
to the Democrat party over a dead black man killed by
a thug union Democrat cop?

Too bad they didn't burn Honolulu.
You could do nothing about it and call 911
and hope cousin shows up.

Why did someone pull the fire alarm? :grrr:

4 police officers fired and charged with crimes. What more? We released prisoners during this pandemic. Now some are calling for the disbandment of the police. Then what?

I could care less about Democrats or Republicans, as they are both opposite cheeks of the same ass.

I despise cops, but they are a necessary evil
here in Hawaii.
But what should they prioritize?
Speeding tickets?
DUI?
Domestic violence situations?
Traffic accidents and traffic
coordination's?
Interacting with homeless?
Investigations of crimes already committed?

Most cops focus on Traffic citations.
That is money for the state.

Dui enforcement may save a life.
Domestic Violence  may save many.

Rest of it is just cleaning up a mess that
already occured
and documenting it.

Most police chief's concentrate on
traffic tickets.
safest things for their "guys".
After all the most imortant thing is to get
home safe at night.
Police aren't even in  to top
ten most dangerous occupations.

Y'all figure it out.

but I am an American.
