If the good cops start growing some balls and start reporting the bad cops they work with on a regular basis, maybe we are on to something that can address the problem. But with the police unions and the establishment themselves unwilling to prosecute their fascists minions, until the general populace explodes into a civil frenzy; the problem will not get solved.
This willing ignorance is exactly the heart of the problem and has nothing to do with which two political cheeks of the same ass is in charge. The police are nothing but the domestic enforcers of the state. Hence, changing who sits on the local throne of power does not matter. What matters is to set a transparent system for strict oversight, eliminate any legal protection afforded to cops, and begin an internal whistleblower program. These measures would be great starting points to earn the public trust.
One of the few times I agree with you.
After the My Lai massacre in Vietnam, all guys were
trained, that if an order or action violated your "Values".
You had to act. It may well be you will be punished
but that is a far less punishment than if you did
or allowed a major crime to occur.
Cops these days think they are para-military.
"Protect and serve" crap went out the door with Adam 12
TV.
The cops should have to operate under the same rules
as the military does, with the same threats of prosecution.
