Here in AZ most black gun type stuff and tactical gear are gone in the LGS. Lots of revolvers, leverguns, single shots, pump actions, bolt actions, etc are still available. This includes a lot of old surplus stuff. The are a couple of stores in Phoenix that only sold black guns and tactical gear. The whole store looks empty when you walk in.  :shake: Ammo is pretty much all gone but can be found if you go every day and catch them when they get shipments. At least they are getting shipments still. But the shipments are small and and not inclusive of many popular products. Small pistol/rifle primers are almost non existent now. Large pistol/rifle primers are getting tough to find. Jacketed bullets are very hard to find. Plated bullets are almost as hard to find. Lead/cast bullets are still available including coated bullets. Most of the popular powders are gone. Tho H335 is currently available in a couple of places if you need some grab it if you can. There are still good alternatives available.

I messed up my ar15 buffer tube and was looking for a replacement.  There's none in the used market and some online places are sold out.  Not sure what the market is for other AR15 parts.  In the past few months I've been buying magazines, spotting scopes, replacement springs, holsters, and putting together my belt with no problems getting those items.

Only thing I'm interested in buying is ammo once the prices come down.  I have about 4-6 months of ammo for heavy training to prep for my classes, plus a few more months of reloading supplies.  I'm hoping ammo prices come down early next year.
I'm pretty sure I have a spare carbine buffer tube if you need.  Probably lots of other parts as well.  I swapped out the milspec assembly for the VLTOR/A5 on a couple of rifles, I have the "take off" parts just sitting around.  Castle nut, buffer, etc.  LMK what you need.

I’d invest in magazine companies like Okay and Magpul  ;D ;)

I just invested in a complete build kit from PSA, enhanced trigger, magpul furniture
I just went there to see if they had a sale, and they had the kit in stock
I took a few minutes thinking about it bc I don't really need another AR right now, but with all that's going on might be a good idea to have backup parts just in case, so after about 10 minutes thinking trying to talk myself out of it and warming up my lunch at work, I thought what the hell just order it
good thing I did bc I think I got the last one for now bc its out of stock after I ordered it
since I've been watching AR parts for the past several weeks, I notice the PSA kits are going up $10-20 each week. so maybe good thing I got it now, in a few months it'll be 100+ more
first prices go up, then no can find at all
get um while you can!  :grrr:

Ahh.  Never heard of that company.  If I really needed an upper, I would be tempted.

One good thing about PSA is that they have (or used to have) basic uppers in the $200-300 range.  I already have quality uppers, but if I could get one at a good price I was interested in a beater/KISS as a nice to have.

Not in stock but able to backorder for $330

In the mag video, he mentioned that he buys a mag every time he goes to a LGS.  That could get expensive.   ;D

I don't go into LGS that much these days, but even when I do, I often find myself buying more than what I went there for.  Similar to trips to places like Lowe's and Home Depot.

That's what I was thinking.  Rather than buying just one per visit, I'd keep an eye out for sales or discounts on bulk buys.

Was searching for a few parts online this weekend and there are still a number of items that are either out of stock as well as items that sell out quickly after coming back into stock.

One that I noticed was a folding rear sight that I have been wanting to swap out on one of my ARs.  It came back in stock on Friday and when I checked Sat when I was going to put an order in, sold out.  Not a big deal as I can wait, but I checked for that same sight on various other vendors and all out of stock.  Either that, they were selling for about $20 over the going rate.  Strange. . .

Ordered an upper, BCG, and sights combo from PSA middle of last week.  I was on the phone with tech support for my work laptop and was browsing and came across a pretty good deal, or at least one of the best I've seen in the last 4-5 months.  Didn't "need" another upper, but I have been wanting one for some specific testing.  That was right before the COVID stuff hit and seemingly everything was being bought up.  Hopefully this is a sign that the firearms market is recovering.  Hopefully the ammo situation improves. . .

I broke down and I ordered 2 C&R guns from Classic Firearms a week ago. I ordered a Tokarev TTC made in Romania. It came yesterday packed in cosmoline. And I ordered a Carcano carbine. Even tho the Carcano is not the greatest rifle in the world, I wanted one because I enjoy reloading for and shooting obsolete firearms in obsolete cartridges. Its coming in this Wednesday. The Tokarev is in beautiful shape. I have not shot it yet. I was able to find dies and once fired brass for it pretty easily. Bullets should be no problem and I’ll eventually cast boolits for it.

I have not noticed any difference in availability of any reloading supplies. Primers are still non existent. But, I have noticed that a little bit of hard to get 22 ammo is showing up on AmmoSeek.com the last week or so. So is 9mm and 5.56mm all at outrageous prices. But the prices are now lower than they were a couple of weeks ago. I see 9mm at 50 cents per round (Was 65 cents 2 weeks ago) and 5.56 at 70 cents (Was $1.00 2 weeks ago). While Mini Mag’s and CCI SV are at 20 cents per round. Too high for my blood but they are available where a couple of weeks ago they were not available at all.

Nice!

I had to look up what a Tokarev TTC is. Probably a good time to get into those, esp with your interest in loading for the uncommon calibers.

Ammo prices here are still crazy. I’ve been tempted to sell some 9 and .223/5.56, but have held off. I have a good amount of 9 and ok of .223/5.56, but haven’t been shooting the last month since the second shutdown.

Been eyeing .22 rifles though. 🤔

Sorry. The Tokarev pistol is a Russian design. It replaced the 1895 Nagant Revolver which was made from 1895 throughout WWII. I have one of those revolvers as well. Mine was made in 1914. The Tokarev I have was made in 1953 at the Cugir factory in Romania during the time of the USSR or Soviet occupation. The cartridge that the Tokarev fires is the 7.62x25 and it has superior ballistics to the 9mm. The bullet is lighter than a 9mm at 85-90gr but velocities run around 1200-1600 fps. As a matter of fact, this cartridge can defeat level 3 soft body armor. I have never seen nor held a Tokarev prior to arriving yesterday. It looks a little awkward from the photos but it is smaller than I thought it would be and it feels very good in my hand. Fit and finish on this pistol is great. I hope it is a good shooter. Now I am thinking I need to buy some of the variations like this Zastava that is chrome plated: https://www.classicfirearms.com/zastava-m57-tokarev-yugo-ceremonial-parade-finish/

I need more 22 rifles!!!   My favorite is my Stevens model 1925 pump action tube fed. I need to buy more pump action rifles.

Recovery
Firearms/Parts/Mags - Im guessing inventory will be low for a while if Democrats can gain control of the house and senate.  Every mass shooting will trigger a call for controls/restrictions.  May be like the Obama years.

I’ve never really gotten into reloading because I’m lazy but ammo prices are steep so the pake in me is getting me to reload.

I wish I had stocked up more 22lr but I was trying to stock up  more 223 and 9mm.  Next time I’ll stock up 9mm and 223 reloading components instead of ammo so I could stock more 22lr

That said, stocking up 9mm, 45 and 223 was still worthwhile.

Thanks!  I was there the other week and spent $800 on powder and primers.

Would you have an idea what a brick is running?  I’m thinking of picking up 2 more cases.

Not sure as I didn't ask.  But, SEC's pricing has been fair during this pandemic.

Believe bricks were starting at $38, which is still pretty good.  I'm amazed at how much the price of powder has gone up.  At least SEC still has a good supply of powder - for now.
