The horn here? What, jus’ scrap. The horn is generally off limits in Hawaii, if you’ve grown up here, unless their asleep at a light. Then it’s a friendly tap.
Unless Someone is reversing and is gonna slam you. That’s emergency horn blare. Usually other person is shame.
Or if someone full blast cuts you off, then horn blare. (But that still might be just scrap scenario) "

   FYI,  the sounding of your horn prior to passing a vehicle on it's left is in Hawaii law.
291-C-43
     (3)  Except when overtaking and passing on the right is permitted, the driver of an overtaken vehicle shall give way to the right in favor of the overtaking vehicle on audible signal and shall not increase the speed of the driver’s vehicle until completely passed by the overtaking vehicle;
   Or maybe not ?

"audible signal " = Hey Faka, move over !  : >:D

Where you live no more left lane. It’s a 2 lane road.  :rofl: :shaka:

Really ?
  I'll have to get back to you on that.  :rofl: :rofl: :rofl:

I've seen tourists reading a map and talking through an entire cycle of a stop light, and the car behind never hit the horn (this was in Waikiki).  I was told by my driver that if anyone does blow their horn in that situation, they are most likely not from Hawaii.

I've seen people honking more and more, as texting and playing Candy Crush while driving has created more inattentive drivers.

In Baltimore, when the light turns green, you have about 3/4 of a second to start moving before the horn behind you starts blasting.

Drivers there are really impatient.  I would like them to come visit and do that in Waimanalo or Waianae.
