I own a VW diesel, I'd like to know how this guy
stays so clean?
I'm in the market for a Diesel truck, but I'm waiting for the right price.
Here on the BI they are very prized and expensive.

Make no error, everything you do on the internet
is watched and stored.  Even your Snail mail is
recorded and tested.
I know exactly what mail has been sent to me.
Drives my wife nuts when I tell her the electric bill
is at the post office.( we don't get direct mail delivery,
as we are too rural)

Apparently people didn't pay attention to the revelations made public by a Hawaii-based NSA computer guy named Edward Snowden.

That's not how it works.

They gather EVERYTHING that might be useful information.  Then, when they have a reason to investigate someone, they don't need to worry about only getting information from that point forward,

It's like, if Cops get a warrant to tap your phones, intercept your cell, and monitor your emails, they can only obtain what's available to them after the warrant.  Any calls you made or emails you sent and deleted prior to the warrant are unable to be included in the data collection.

With systems such as Carnivore, the information is gathered but not accessed unless a court order is issued.  Now they can look back at info that existed prior to the warrant and use that against you as well.

Of course, there's also that treasure trove of data we call Purchase History, Rental History and so on that has what you bought, watched, listened to and ordered for others going back years -- no NSA software required.

Like he said, there is possibly a big "sting" going on, and he just hit that list with his online purchase activity.

We have a situation where the Chinese are actively smuggling in weapons and probably sponsoring some of the instability we’ve had lately. We did it to them in Hong Kong after all, so this is just taking a page out of our own playbook and using it against us. FBI would usually handle this stuff so getting a knock on the door from HS is very telling.

Good thing they can track all this gun data, COVID, etc but cant seem to track kids when they are abducted and sold into the sex trade

Interesting. I wonder who is reporting this to a law enforcement agency

The internet IS a law enforcement agency.

I think the safest bet is that the retailer probably made the report.

That is the cover story anyway, because otherwise someone would challenge it in court and open up an uncomfortable can of 4th amendment worms.

If you think about it, it would be rather difficult for the government to keep tabs by itself. So many different retailers of items the government might like to keep track of and they are using numerous different software programs to track and process orders. Individual backdoor software would need to be written for so many different programs. Not impossible of course but quite a bit more difficult.

Plus I think many responsible business owners will call law enforcement if they see suspicious orders even at the risk of offending a customer.

I wonder if the high mileage premium FRAM filter is better than the walmart SUPERTECH brand?
We need an unbiased consumer test report with FRAM, PUROLATOR, STP,  etc.
There are a lot of fine choices out there.

Co-worker of mine here tried ordering a "solvent trap" from wish, he saw it advertised on Facebook.
He never got his package, but was paid a visit by HPD/ATF. They asked to see where he stored his guns
and had him sign something saying he won't try to order similar items again.

Can’t you get solvent trap adaptors all over the place ?
Used to be you could.
Odd he got a visit from ATF.
You think he was already on a watch list?
