Y'all in Honolulu, do not forget, your HPD Chief has promised to ruin you by running you through the "system' if you dare defend yourselves with a firearm.

Just sit back, take your beating and robbery, and be thankful you have such polices serving and protecting you.

Of course, meanwhile, just waiting to come down on you and ruin your life.  Self defense is de facto illegal in Honolulu per the chief.

Use a knife or other weapon, that old bitch will still come after you and the whole DA legal apparatus with her.

Sad to say, this is what it comes down to.  :(

I sometimes worry.  Not for myself but for my wife.  We're both in the "old" category and it's unthinkable that she could get hurt or killed just because we look vulnerable.

In this particular case the victim was attacked in broad daylight in a relatively busy area.  Very disturbing that this attack happened.

A young criminal with a bright future as a criminal, based on our "kinder, gentler" society  that would rather punish law abiding citizens who (gasp) :o dare to defend themselves.

I plan to defend myself and my family in every way possible.  Gun. Knife. Baseball bat. Rock. Fists. Anything.  Screw you Ballard and the people who pull your strings.

These cases really disturb me.

In a perfect world, I would deploy 2-man teams.
One decoy dressed as an old woman.
One man in an over watch position with a suppressed 10-22.
What, Me Worry?

My grandmother would travel to Chinatown and all around on her own and via the bus.  She enjoyed the independence even when many family offered to take her around.  Sad that many kupuna might think twice now before going out and stay home out of fear.

Sad thing is most people would not carry a gun even in a constitutional carry state.  Here in Hawaii, I would say 90% of seniors have no weapon of any kind on their person. I personally carry 2 fixed blades, one on each side, a Mace pepper gun and wear a cap that has a 7 oz lead plate sewn in.  A hit from that will probably take most people out of the fight if they aren't knocked out. I stick that cap in my carry on bag and TSA has never pulled it.  If they questioned me I would say it is so I don't have to chase after my cap on a windy day.

Never talked about firearms with my grandmother, but at like 90 lbs, she had to pay attention to the winds that day.   ;D

She had an aluminum cane.  That was probably her best bet.

The shitty part is that the rep (Rhodes) doesn't do anything for his district, but has the time to push 7 gun bills he wrote.  Not 1 bill for harsher punishment for repeat criminals.  He does not meet with the neighborhood board to discuss these issues either.

Back to the shitty part is that he won his re-election spot against Kevin McDonald who is a 2a supporter.  Like blew him out of the water win.  Guess people in Chinatown, Downtown, Nuuanu don't care.

I like your cap with the lead plate sewn in.  Very unassuming but makes a good defensive weapon.  Kinda like odd-job's derby in Goldfinger.  But more indiscrete.

But still sad for those seniors walking about alone in what you would think is a fairly safe environment.  I hope they catch that fuckin piece of shit.

Does "fivehead" even live near Chinatown?  Should arrange a townhall in Chinatown to address community issues and see if he shows up.

Rhoads reminds me a lot of Pelosi.

He has been invited and doesn't show.  The last one I think he sent someone from his office.  1 or 2 guys from this forum went so they can ask quesitons.

He also doesn't return calls made to him by the board.

Ya, wouldn't expect him to show.  But can get more people to record, asking questions about where he is, how come he doesn't care enough to show up.

Then Rhoads can have his "we feed them" response.

I was surprised McDonald loss by so much.  He has signs in the district and even did sign waiving which me and Mrs. CMO took part off.  There are no Rhode's signs or sign waviers.  He also is very vocal on FB about crime and businesses failing in the area.  I was expecting a much closer race.

Yeah, when I'm 80 I may not even care if CCW is against the law here.

My age for that concern will be less than 80 especially if Biden is elected.
I'll keep a lawyer on speed dial. I'd rather pay a lawyer than a hospital.

Yeah, I really shouldn't set an age, but more a physical fitness level.  I'm 70 but still climbing and removing trees for extra income. I still feel I can hold my own with a younger bigger stronger guy IF I have a weapon (non firearm). When I reach the point that I feel too feeble to protect myself with a knife, I'll start packing.  I am not going to let some asshole beat the crap out of me and possibly be a vegetable  or crippled for the rest of my short remaining life in this screwed up world if I can help it.  Darn, there really are advantages of being old.
