Didn't you read what I wrote? I had him do a custom live image like think newspaper on gun. With our names and time.

So the two of you Anthony Weiner’d each other with newspapers...🤨😑

My inquisitive mind is begging to know which of the parties came up with that Skype-like method of verifying ..... anything.

If the seller, then it's obvious he was prepared and use that to further build upon some false sense of security -- not to mention the arrogance of a youthful know-it-all.

If the buyer, then it's obvious the seller had no fear of being found out, because the intelligence of the buyer had already been established.

I don't think your problem was that the seller doesn't have the Saiga, the problem was that he was looking to rip you off.

Compared to the Nigerian Prince who's selling a Saiga and used goggle images just to show the gun.

Mauser C96 1899 or earlier so I don't have to register it with the Democrats.
But hard to find outside of a museum.

I've been scammed before, guess I am too trusting.  Sometimes you take gambles for good deals,  I've won some and lost some.  Shit happens, it was 100$ because I wasn't sure.  I've lost more on one poker hand betting on a 25% flush.  Just have to trust my gut more and be more careful, getting too complaisant.  Don't want to get too down on this and move on.  I am probably minimalizing this just to feel a little better about being scamming, but in the end I  just thought I let everyone in the forum know so no one falls for the same scam.  Get all these bots banned cause they are trying to trick people by seeming real.
I am sorry you were scammed. You have no one to blame but yourself.

Us old people have an old saying that we live by. “If it seems too good to be true, it is.” That price was too low in this market. Another old person saying comes to mind “Getting something for nothing”. The lure of getting the gun for a low price without common sense shows greed. Feelings over common sense. I dare to say typical of Millennials.

What bothers me the most about all of this is you have been scammed previously. You are a human being. There is another old saying. “I think therefore I am”. You are supposed to learn from your mistakes so it doesn’t happen again. But apparently you didn’t learn the first time or the second. That is worrisome. It goes to show a lack of critical thinking and common sense. But then you also justify your mistake by using a poker analogy which you probably used the first time you got scammed. This is clearly not the scammers fault. People will be evil. It is your responsibility to be smart enough not to fall for the scam. At the very least you should not have fallen for it after the first time. What scares me the most is that you can and probably will reproduce. And unless you grow up, and grow up quickly and become an adult that can function in the adult world you are just going to teach your children to be same way you are.

Its true it was my fault I was scammed its not like I am blaming people. I was scammed when I was 14.   Not sure how that translates to a lifetime of never getting scammed again.  I will make some changes on how I act, but I won't live a life of paranoia.  I still try and believe in the good of people.  The poker analogy I did use that as an excuse after my first scam. Went on to making some deals that went perfectly well and made far more than I lost (in video games).   I have no fears of reproducing, children are not clones.  I will teach them to take risks that are appropriate.  Go into the deal with the thoughts of can I accept the negative outcomes.  What is the potential gain?  Is it worth the risk?  In this case losing 100$ for potential gain.  Just like in poker everything is a calculated risk.  I've lost hands, but I've won hands too.  So far I have come out on top more often.  For me its all about risk and reward.  Is the risk worth the reward and if I fail will I accept the risk? In investing in stocks, its all calculated gambling. You must go into it with the knowledge you might lose it all.  Are you willing to have that happen, is the gain worth it?  I only invest money I can afford to lose.  Knock on wood but so far this risk has been paying dividends.

In this case I lost, and I was a bit hubris and ignored some of the warning signs.  I got greedy.  I didn't properly evaluate the risk and reward.  I need to work on my greed.  Also I need to  do more research and trust my gut.  Scammers have come a long way since I was 14.  I have to learn to spot details that give away its a scam. Everything in life is a learning experience and I hope I have learned from this.  But to say my future children will be a bunch of scam falling for people is a stretch.

Found one in Kansas so My BIL can pick it up
but the price is too low to be true. ~1800$
Most pistols of that era are $3,000 plus.
You know a C96 has the same ballistic
characteristics of a .357 Mag?
But like you say it is an antique.

I have a Red 9.  It is reblued but not too badly done--it looks nice.  Unreliable, awkward to handle, a bitch to reassemble and parts are almost non-existant.

Makes a great paperweight but a pre-98 SAA would be a far better piece for shooting (and I don't care for shooting SA revolvers, even though I always seem to have a few lying around).

Although I wander a bit. isin't this a gun oriented forum?
What is an SAA?
Red 9 is Chinese so what do you expect?
SA revolvers don't really match up to a
C96 semi, stripper clip fed 10 round internal magazine pistol.
Keep me updated as I will all my fellow 2A site guys.
We are entering dangerous times.

SAA=Single Action Army

Red 9 is the war-expedient 9mm chambered C96 pistol fielded by the Hun.  They had a red "9" carved into the grip so that the 7.63 Mauser wouldn't be mistakenly loaded in it.

This is considerably less drift than some other threads.

Well, you just verified everything I said. And then some. The truth is looking you right in the face and you don’t even see it. No sense in even discussing anything with you if you can’t see the forest through the trees.

What I've noticed as well and point out from time to time.  He totally misses main points and many huge picture points.  He's so apologetic about what he knows, he doesn't see anything else.  Cup already full.
