"Making life uncomfortable" to force someone to do something or lose employment, etc, is called "harassment," which is illegal.  Look it up.  People have a right to live their lives and make a living without being "made uncomfortable" intentionally.

Googling is no longer a valid form of research, since the White House admitted they are colluding with Social Media to remove information they don't want people to see.

Free speech?  This is the new digital version of Book Burning.

You have no right to someone's private property or business.  Every dang business I see has a sign they can refuse service for any reason.   Its not harassment,  its rights of those citizens and those businesses.  Unless you are advocating that you don't need rules for your private property and anyone is welcome to come on it....that sounds a bit communist.

Free speech is still alive and well.  That's why we have so much fake news.

Making life uncomfortable is perfectly legal.   I am a strong capitalist,  private property should have rights.  That includes not letting people use/interact with said private property for any reasonable reason.  IF you don't want someone in your house,  don't let them.  Vaccine is just a condition you can require.  Nothing wrong with being specific.

Trump is an isolationist.  Try google that too.  Not an nationalist.  The policies he was enacting I feel was weakening America not making it stronger.   He was also more of a dictatorship not a democracy.  Fake news and punishing any dissenting opinions.   The list can go on.
I think America should dominate the ENTIRE world not pull out.  We should have robust trade and the agreements trump made only weakened America,  we lost money.

Not really the article showed what was possible with utterly worse conditions.  We have a chance to do better.  Enact vaccine policies that make it very difficult not to be vaxxed if you want to lead a normal life.  While preserving the right and access to public areas and services.

Our current vaccine is MUCH safer, MUCH better regulated and proven.  We just need the will to continue on and make sure everyone is vaxxed.  In the past they took it slightly too far,  but the general idea of getting everyone vaxxed is sound.   AND it worked flawlessly in the end.  We don't have small pox anymore.

Key words in there are " i feel".

So say there is a gun tax of $5k per gun annually. And then an ammo tax of $10 per bullet semi annually, whether u shoot it or not.

No one is banning guns, just making it expensive to own.  It's all G.

Thinks he is 1, but really is something else and doesnt understand why. Refund.

"In the past they took it slightly too far...", but ok with making life uncomfortable.

It not even about the government anymore, they will always hop on any bandwagon of idiocy  that takes them to the next 2 yrs in power.

It's about the internet giving morons a bullhorn that reaches too far. A traditional society acted as a firewall for bad ideas, no one would keep transmitting Omni levels of Dumb far across the land, they would be ignored and it would cease to spread. Now we have the internet able to hit repeater stations of stupid and a bunch of broken friendless shut ins are thumbs upping each other in a 1-uppers game of King of Stupid Mountain.

This board is in no way helping Omni get less dumb or stopping him from trying to climb that mountain.

100% agree but reversed with your ideas being full of idiocy  :shaka:  The modern world with fakenews is what got Trump elected.  I am one of those victims.  Never again.  The special sites of echo chambers keeps the Trumpets drum beating.  Where the ignorance builds and they can share fakenews and create fakenews.

A private university can take away your scholarship for a social media post, not exactly a difficult thing to do.  A scholarship is not some "god given" right.  They have a vaccine policy that they don't need to make exemptions for.  There's tons of legal ways they can do this.

A private university still has to adhere to discrimination laws for admission.

Man, you don't know when to stop, huh?

From the BYU-Hawaii Website:

"Student with a disability has:
...
   - The right to participate in the university experience without fear of or experiencing discrimination due to a disability.
   - The right to reasonable and appropriate accommodations to ensure equal access to programs, services, and activities."

Any physical or mental medical condition falls under the definition of "disability".

By their own policy, they have to allow her to attend.

This is in their admissions policy:

Quote
In compliance with applicable state and federal nondiscrimination laws (e.g., Title VI,
Title IX, and Section 504), BYU–Hawaii will not unlawfully discriminate against applicants
based upon gender, race, creed, religion, national origin, age, or disability who meet the
requirements, who agree to abide by the BYU–Hawaii Honor Code and Dress and
Grooming Standards, and who are otherwise qualified based upon available space.

The new admissions rule requiring COVID vaccine proof is in conflict with common sense, science and the law.

That's what you don't get,  that's crossing the private line.  I've never said to hurt someone financially or force anyone to suffer for public means.  That punitive punishment and not good.   Forcing someone private to pay a private tax isn't right.   But allowing private companies and businesses to make their own rules is great.  If a private range wished to charge you 1000$ per bullet shot.  That's perfectly fine.  But a Public range should have no such limit.   The government however is allowed to make laws and regulations that influence private property to protect the public.   Gun ownership would not fall into any of that as its not a threat.

Yup the magic of levels.  They went to far so dial it back a bit but not too much  :shaka:

Fakenews should be flagged but not removed.   Unless its malicious from an enemy state.  I never said I support everything the biden administration is doing...never voted for them either.

We can debate on this all year long,  I don't think vaccine refusal would qualify her.   In the end the courts will decide.

And we know you trust the gov't to decide what is fake news, and what is not -- even though the media and gov't are colluding on what we need to see and hear.

What could possibly go wrong?  Worked for Hitler, Stalin, Mussolini, Gaddafi, Saddam Hussein,  Castro, Kim Jong Un, All of China's leaders, etc.  When the government dictates what the press can publish, it's called fascism.

Its quite simple.  Have a neutral 3rd party of be able to prove beyond a reasonable doubt what is true and what isn't.   Cite your sources.   Don't really even always need a 3rd party either.  The magic of facts is its always true.

If someone posts a flat earth news story.  Flag it with facts and science proving the world is round.

The viewer can decide in the end.

I supported my position with facts and sources.

You now want to "wait and see" after trying to argue.

it's a pattern  with you.  Just admit you didn't take 2 minutes to try and back up your claims with facts.

If the case settles, which is the most likely outcome, the "courts" won't decide anything.  Another thing you are probably wrong about.

Just stop trying.

There is no such thing as a neutral party in these cases.  They will always be paid by someone to do the job.

Why are you so anti-freedom?  The First Amendment should not be circumvented by a gov't deputizing a social media monopoly like Facebook nor a supposedly "neutral" board of censors.

You must be a fascist at heart.  That automatically comes with the belief in Socialism.

There are many current cases of employers firing non vaccinated employees.   Admittedly its a gray area legal wise and while I do believe its allowed a final decision can only be made by the courts.  I can cite legal pages that say its allowed, and there's some that like your viewpoint say its not.  I was trying to end the off topic argument because there will be no conclusion until the courts decide.  If I post the sites in support,  you will post the sites that say its discrimination and it will go on and on.  I've come to this realization in the previous post.
