OGC case price is tops right now.

When Security Equipment has it on sale, they're lowest. (not on sale right now)

5,000rd case or 500rd bulk pack?

5000 round case

If memory serves me, it's $330 for a 5000 round case at OGC. ($6.60 per 100)

I read on a couple of other websites that CCI Blazers are the same as the minimags without the copper coating.  Not sure if true, but would be a good deal.

I was talking to a super friendly guy on the silhouette side shooting his S&w 15-22 and asked him about cci.  He informed that the cci is good cause of the copper jacket covering the bullet.  On cheaper ammo like American eagle there is lead burs and over casting that builds up on the feed ramp that leads to jams.  Copper jacket does not have this issue.  If I recall the blazer bulk does not have the jacket, I could be wrong.

You're right--CCI Blazer bulk doesn't have a jacket.  It's still a really good go-to round for cheap tho!

I have to say that a well designed .22 rifle or pistol will shoot even the crappiest ammo quite a few hundred times (if not thousands of times) before it needs cleaning. The better lead based bullet ammo has a good lube on it and the lead buildup you mentioned will also be nonexistent. If you have that sort of lead buildup and have to use a copper washed/coated bullet (note .22 bullets are not copper jacketed or plated) then your rifle/pistol needs work. You should note that the most expensive and best made .22 ammo does not have a copper washed bullet. The copper only helps cover up problems that are exasperated by lead only bullets in a poorly designed/executed gun. And copper coated .22 ammo is just another way for the ammo companies to offer more value/features to their ammo. Technically (and generally) speaking as far as accuracy and velocity are concerned the copper washed bullets have little or no advantage over a well lubed lead bullet (in .22 caliber). Obviously, this does not apply to larger more powerful calibers.

The nice thing about time and technology is that the .22 ammo has gotten better and better. Even the cheaper ammo like the CCI Blazer can be used and is used in informal matches. The CCI Blazer is much higher quality and better shooting ammo than the standard velocity Remington Green Box I used to shoot 30 years ago.

The best .22 ammo for you is the ammo that shoots the best out of your gun. The best low cost ammo is the cheapest ammo you can find that you have to compromise accuracy the least.

Correct...I've seen stupid high end ammo with no copper jacket.  But they come coated with some substance that keeps the bullet from having little leave behinds in the feed ramp.  I recall seeing $10+ for 50 shots.
I am gonna try the target federal bullets I got from another member this week as well as the cci mini mags.  One of my friends is gonna be there tomorrow with blazer rounds hopefully I can get a box to sample too.  I love to get accuracy and consistency for about $30 a brick rather than closer to $40 that I'm doing now
