Happy Thanksgiving 2020?
« on: November 23, 2020, 04:39:59 PM »
It's getting close to the holiday.
At last check, King Caldwell says no more than 5 people for your holiday dinner.

Funny thing though....
Maui can have 10 people
Big Island can have 10 people
Kauai can have 10 people
What, Me Worry?

With people limiting their gatherings to 5, it's going to be a record breaking year for leftovers.
I predict a spike in food poisoning cases.

Have a happy holiday fellas

I was waiting to see what the gathering limits will be by Thursday.  Nothing seems to be indicating we are heading toward Tier 3 (10 max).  We're in Tier 2 now -- as of Sat, Nov 21 -- which allows 5 max.  That's not a gathering.  That's just setting a couple extra places at the table.

I offered to make some side dishes that my daughter can take and visit with her "husband's" mother and brother.  They can bring home a few leftovers for me.  (Husband is easier than "baby daddy" or "boy friend".  Maybe they'll tie the knot soon, but I'm fine either way if they are.    )

I really don't need another reason to over-stuff my face, so if nothing else, a little cooking on my part earns me a full dinner in return!   :geekdanc:

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!!  :shaka:

We are having 10 people on Thursday (12 including me and Mrs. Inspector). Eight of our guests were a last minute invite acceptance after they turned us down!   My nephew, his wife and their 6 kids. Wow! We have choke food stocked in. Planning on starting our cooking and preparations on Wednesday.

My wife who visits her mother daily at Ola Loa in Mililani (retirement community) told me today her mom is so sad because she wanted to have just her children over for Thankgiving.  For us that would be me and my wife, her sister, and two brothers, one with wife, and another sister and husband.
That would've been 9 total.

All of our children are adults and married or have boyfriends and girlfriends so because of this covid crap our family understood that the children would do their own thing since we can't gather like we normally would. :(

My mother in law is so sad because she thought she could have at least the 9 of us over for Thanksgiving but it looks like no can.  She must have misunderstood about the 10 since I guess the outer islands can have 10.  I'm thinking we could just split up, half of us visit at lunch the other half visit later on.  F*ck this bullshit......

My wife and I also ordered from Catered Experience the Thankgiving dinner.  Gotta figure how we're gonna do this....

Happy Thankgiving to all 2a members.  Sorry about my earlier rant.

Happy Thanksgiving to our elected officials too.  You better not get caught violating the rules you jerks imposed on us.  Don't get caught like that California bastard.  Make ass. but then normal for you guys.

FOODIES!
This year my culinary contribution will be shrimp scampi.
Last year I made char siu and It was a big hit with the guys in the gun club.
My daughter is studying culinary arts to be a French pastry chef so we are guaranteed to have a fabulous dessert.

Thanksgiving gathering limits are the same as new year’s fireworks prohibition. Do whatever you’re comfortable with.

And if you have cool or asshole neighbors.

For this Thanksgiving, normal plans for get together at my sister's place is off.  Will be having Thanksgiving dinner at a friend's house.  We're all responsible adults, with a couple of rascal kids, and only thing that matters is we're comfortable around each other.

Looking forward to eating and drinking too much.
