Biden starts staffing a commission on Supreme Court "reform"

And by "reform" they mean "expanding" it to nullify the current purported "conservative" majority (since when is 2 (Thomas, Alito) out of 9 a "majority"?).

Politico wouldn't lie about such a thing would they?

Biden starts staffing a commission on Supreme Court reform

He pushed the idea as a candidate during the Amy Coney Barrett confirmation fight. Now, he’s getting it going.

The Biden administration is moving forward with the creation of a bipartisan commission to study reforms to the Supreme Court and the federal judiciary.

The commission will be housed under the purview of the White House Counsel’s office and filled out with the behind-the-scenes help of the Biden campaign’s lawyer Bob Bauer, who will co-chair the commission. Its specific mandate is still being decided. But, in a signal that the commission is indeed moving ahead, some members have already been selected, according to multiple people familiar with the discussions.

Hope this doesn't go anywhere.  Hopefully the democrats are smart enough not to fuck up the courts and start a new partisan war.

Not necessarily. There were a number of reform ideas floated, one of the most talked about ones was term limits of 25 years.

The Biden administration is having the FBI arrest people for making memes. Whatever they touch turns to a big wet communist turd right on our heads. Wake up brother. 1984=2021
I’m becoming clinically undepressed and thinking about beginning it all.

Yeah, he really is that stupid and uniformed, which for him is "reality".

Let me guess, there was no fraud of any kind anywhere in any state significant enough to overturn the presidential results? Let's stick with reality.

Anyone who reads the law under which the arrestee is charged, and knows what he actually did, knows that this arrest and charge have nothing to do with any reality except in the minds of fascist censors who intend to send a message about dissenting opinions.

Here's Tucker's take tonight on the absurd arrest that the morons in this thread don't even know happened, or deny, or deny that it was for what it was, or means what it means.

You're such dumbshit liars.

You have to realize, even though they are Libertarians at Heart, and claim to watch ALL media stations for "balance", they don't watch FO unless something they agree with comes up in a Google search.  Only FOX seems to be reporting actual news right now.  The rest are too busy fawning over the man who just signed more Executive Orders in his first week in office (17) than Trump (4), Obama (5) and Bush (0) combined.  This, after saying in October that only a dictator uses Executive orders to enact policy rather than the democratic process of running policies through Congress.

C'mon, man!  Trump's the dictator.  Listen to what you're told and stop worrying about what President* Biden is actually doing.

News of the arrest of Mackey, and the specific charges, was available yesterday everywhere, including the New York Times, the Washington Post, the Department of Justice and innumerable other news sites.

If the morons posting here that claim that arrest and charges weren't "reality" are so stupid that they only get their "news" from cable tv... well, that figures. Stupid and ignorant is stupid and ignorant... no matter the excuse. That's reality.

On another note, actually related to this thread title and the "reality" assertion that there are other reforms besides packing the court being considered, that's true, they're all intended to overcome the current "conservative" majority... and one of the leaders of the commission is on record as stating that nine isn't written anywhere, including the Constitution, as being the requisite number of justices... I think she was smirking as she answered the question as to whether she would support increasing the number of justices on the court.

What arrestee?

Edit: The guy Tucker is talking about?  He doesn't really show the alleged meme or memes unless I missed it while listening but looking away. Since Tucker clearly isn't trying to be objective here I went to skim some other articles and the guy's charges are not merely for "creating memes" as he is claiming.

This is an interesting story and there definitely could be an actual crime there but without more details and a greater understanding of the law, I don't really know.

Does the meme really matter?  Memes are usually sarcastic or insulting humor.  He wasn't arrested for any crimes related to the CONTENT of the memes that would be exceptions to free speech, like inciting violence, hate speech or threatening someone with violence.

He was arrested for things he posted leading up to the 2016 election.  That was 4 years ago.  He "was arrested for spreading disinformation on the social media platform, telling people they could vote by text in the 2016 presidential election in an effort to suppress votes for Hillary Clinton."  That's it.  No threats, nothing.

The actual charges were under 18 U.S. Code § 594 - Intimidation of voters

Quote
Whoever intimidates, threatens, coerces, or attempts to intimidate, threaten, or coerce, any other person
for the purpose of interfering with the right of such other person to vote or to vote as he may choose, or of
causing such other person to vote for, or not to vote for, any candidate for the office of President, Vice
President, Presidential elector, Member of the Senate, Member of the House of Representatives, Delegate
from the District of Columbia, or Resident Commissioner, at any election held solely or in part for the purpose
of electing such candidate, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than one year, or both.

Unless his memes included threats if people voted for Clinton, or for not voting for Trump, there's nothing a meme could possibly contain that falls under this statute.  Period.

the unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself.
