I order a lot of gun parts and components. And I have ordered quite a bit as of late. My experience with the following companies runs the gamut from shipping in less than an hour from ordering to taking over a month to receive. This thread is not meant to praise or complain but to just share experiences as if you are thinking of ordering from any of these companies you will know what to expect during all this panic buying.
ACME Bullets - I order Powder Coated bullets regularly from them. They are out of stock on a lot of stuff. But if you find something to order their quality is good, processing and shipping has been pretty normal. A week or less to process and shipped USPS. And their bullets come packed in these cool wooden boxes. I don’t order much from them any more as I am casting my own bullets these days.
Berries Bullets - I order 9mm plated bullets from them. They process my orders under a week and they are well packaged.
Brownells - Just placed an order this week. I order mostly gun parts and bullets from them. They are out of a lot of parts but their inventory is so vast they have acceptable substitutes. Best part is they shipped my order within an hour of placing my order.
Brunos Shooters Supplies - I was recommended to this place by Heavies. This is a family run retail store in Phoenix that also does online orders. I order SD ammo, bullets and primers and mostly powder from them. Their shipping is pretty standard. In other words a week or less to process and ship. They package everything well and I assume they ship to Hawaii since Heavies highly recommended them. Their CS is a family member and she is terrific. They were out of an item that I ordered once and immediately called me to let me know.
Capital Cartridge - I ordered almost 10k once fired brass from them in various calibers from July 2020 to October 2020. Orders typically take about a week or less to process and ship. I had one order where I was shorted a few cases and they immediately sent out replacements. They answer their phone and their CS is very good.
Classic Firearms - My experience with them has been good and not so good. I ordered a couple of firearms to be shipped directly to me. They processed my order in a couple of weeks but they shipped each gun separately. And they did not inform me of this. They only sent one tracking number. So of course I thought one firearm went missing when only one arrived. The second one arrived a few days later with a different tracking number. Both were shipped the same day supposedly. When I called up to report the missing firearm they informed me they sent them in separate packages. They gave me the other tracking number. Overall I was happy with the firearms but not the processing. Then I ordered some HiCap mags and a mag loader for my 10/22’s. They were processed separately and shipped separately from different states but both were processed within a week and arrived quickly and packaged well. On January 16 I ordered some HiCap Glock Mags. They have yet to process the order. They sent me an email apologizing for the delay.
DG Bullets - I order their green 9mm powder coated bullets from them. They took a day or two to process my order and I had them in less than a week. They were well packaged.
Grafs - I order lots of bullets from these guys. I usually order in small quantities of 500 or so. I have never had a problem until my last order. And the last order took 3 weeks to process and ship. On January 1, I ordered 1,000 PPU bullets .268 diameter. So a specialty bullet. Problem is they didn’t use enough tape to tape the box shut IMHO and it broke open at the PO here in my town. When it broke open the PO workers thought the bullets were cartridges and they intercepted it and held onto it. It took over a week of contacting the PO and Grafs to get the PO to realize their mistake and deliver the package. I received it today.
Midway USA - I order a lot of stuff from them. Right now I mostly order casting equipment and molds. I wait until they have their free shipping on orders over $50. But I have ordered primers and bullets and powder when they have sales. They usually process orders in a week or less and package their stuff sufficiently.
Missouri Bullet Co - I used to order bullets from them quite often but I started ordering casting lead from as they offer hard cast lead ingots at a decent price. Lately they have taken as long as a month to process orders. My last order was under 2 weeks.
Numerichs (Gun Parts) - They have been slow to process orders as of late. Usually over a week. Also, gun parts quality can be hit or miss. But they will return something if you don’t like it.
Powder Valley - This place used to be my go to place for powder, primers and bullets. But lately they have been out of stock on most everything I need. But when I have placed orders they process them in a week or less and package them quite well. There have been a couple of times where they took longer than a week to process my orders and they send an email apologizing.
Sages Reloading - I found this place on FB of all places. He has a regular website to order from. It is a small business but they usually get their orders out in a day or two and they are packaged so well it takes a while to open them. He sells mostly bullets and cases and specializes in Sierra, Hornady, and XTreme Bullets. Unfortunately, he does not get his orders often any more due to the shortages so his website is empty quite often. The key to buying from him is to join his FB group and he will let you know when he gets a shipment. But things go fast.
XTreme Bullets - I know they don’t ship directly any more to Hawaii. But they usually process orders in a week or less. Their quality is excellent.
I placed orders with all of these companies during the panic buying. Stock may be unavailable or low due to demand. And processing times can be longer or shorter due to demand. So take my experiences as just a guideline. I’ll add more as I remember them.
