Got my handgun permit last month and purchased my first firearm a Ruger Mark III Hunter. Hit the range 3 times but still need to adjust to the v-notch and HiViz sights. I'm thinking of getting a 9mm in a few months for action shooting and maybe a 45 caliber next year.

I had the Ruger MK3 on my list a while back, and in particular the Hunter, so I know what gun you are talking about. Good stuff!

Thanks for the welcome.  Like my other ventures, this will probably last 4-8 years.  I have been into many things.  I have always dived in and immersed myself into the deep end and tried to soak up as much knowledge as possible.  To be honest, I have been avoiding getting into firearms for years because I know how deep I tend to go.
