Hi everybody.

I moved here from San Diego a year ago and work over at Hickam AFB (civilian).

Haven't yet been to Koko Head, but just picked up some target stands to get ready.  I'm used to indoor ranges on the mainland, hence the delay.

Current collection includes a S&W MP15, Beretta M9A1, Sig 2022, Remington 870 and a Taurus M85.

Looking forward to meeting some of you and finally getting out to the range.

Peace,
Robert

ps: if anyone else is a Koko Head noob like me, I would love the company on a trip there (or if you're seasoned and would tolerate showing me the ropes). :-[

Hello there. New guy...and a New Yorker! (Long Island, not NYC) Planning a move with my family to Hawaii next year (Maui or Oahu, don't know yet). Figured I'd join here and learn some about the local scene before I move. And also familiarize myself with the laws. Imagine my amazement when I discover that Hawaii is one of the few places with stricter guns laws than NY (with the exception of the SAFE act).  :o

Anyway...my wife was born and raised on Molokai, but has has lived in NY these past 13 years, so we are moving to HI to be closer to her family.

As far as as guns/shooting....I am actually a newbie and don't even own any firearms. I've been to the range here on Long Island with a friend, and with a cousin-in-law last year at the Ukumehame range on Maui. Suffice to say I have the bug and I'm already planning a future AR-15 build!

Hello everyone. I've been in Hawaii for 8 years and my son is now 9 years old. Looking forward to many days of shooting and targets together.

Evening Ladies and Gentlemen,

It's about time I finally joined up over here, spent last saturday out with the HDF guys doing their fun shoot and they convinced me to come join the fun.

My names Lee and I'll be your resident SOE fanatic and the one drooling over high end AKs

Don't answer that question, ImBatman223.

SOE is special operations equipment. A company that makes a bunch of equipment like belts, rigs, etc. Pretty pricey and a long wait time for equipment but I believe it's all handmade by the SOE team.

Special operations equipment. They make high end chest rigs and belts out of Camden TN. Really really amazing gear.

That's an SOE micro rig and subload that's set up for my AK

Hi Wade,
Congrats on your rifle purchase. Really like Vanguards they're great values and all shoot well. Like that they use Remington M700 mounts too. Best thing I did was to change the trigger. Purchased a Timney trigger, really helped rifle tighten up groups. Gotta have a great trigger for those offhand shots. Own two 300WBY, wanted long range power in a affordable package. Retired my 1st Vanguard, the 2nd is a first gen Backcountry, Stainless fluted barrel with B&C bedding block stock, really like it because it's a lightweight mountain rifle with reach. Comfortable to carry all day long and go deep.
Hope to meet you on the firing line. Will be looking for you & your Vanguard. If you want to try out & shoot pistols or hand cannons I'm usually at the silhouette range.
Welcome!

Hi all!

I am a long time lurker! This is my first post, and I thought I would say hello, and share a bit about myself... I've been living here since 2001, I became a gun owner in 2011, graduated UHM in 2013, I shoot with the local USPSA clubs, and I like browsing the boards here on 2a!

Cheers!

I am a super newbie to the whole gun scene.  I just picked up a Mossberg 500 and an AR with a RRA upper and DPMS lower.  I am looking for people to learn from and to shoot with so I will keep a lookout when you guys go.  I live near the NEX on Oahu but I am willing to drive or ride out.  Thanks!
