I don't know the details about homeschooling, but from I've heard yeah it is a big legal pain. I'm currently getting my certification to be a high school teacher here. I have a lot of weird views on schooling. I think homeschooling should be easy to do, with few to no legal requirements. Practically anyone that wants to homeschool their kids, in however way they want, should be allowed to IMO.
I also think that kids shouldn't have to go to school if they (or their parents) don't want them to, etc. Well in reality they don't anyway, the system is just set up to make it seem as if they do. If I didn't want my kid to go to school, I would just give him a BB gun and tell him to wave it around in class, then he will get the mandatory 1-year suspension. Then I guess I could homeschool him without any legal paperwork.
