I'm not a cowboy.  But I have done my share of putting cattle back
after they get out.  I know the pros that deal with
cows for a living. I've seen how they deal with contrary animals.
Those people in RI must be really stupid.  Perhaps they should not
have "pets"  They can't control?
All I have to do is rattle the bail on a bucket and my "pets" come running.
COB and lots of familiarity works wonders.
I once had a Holstein that would grab a beer can out of
your hand and down it in seconds.
Was very tasty.

We live in a society where the food chain is removed from most of the public's view.  Sure, many people work on farms and ranches raising crops, poultry, beef, mutton, pork, etc.  But the vast majority have no idea what is involved in getting that meat to the supermarket.

No matter how anyone feels now, there was a time where you either butchered animals for meat after killing them, whether wild game or domestic stock, or you starved.

It's far easier to follow your feelings about cattle when you have a full tummy.

I give all my cattle names.
some examples, Cleopatra, Julius, Tenderloin,
Fried, Baked, Spencer, T-bone, Barbra, Diane( after the senators)
They all tasted very good.
Around here we all know where our food comes from.
And I grew up in SE Los Angeles county.

The article mentioned they want to put the cow in a sanctuary once it's found.

I think the cow has been eaten already........ :shaka:

I kill and eat things. I'm definitely not a PETA type.
I have been in and around industrial farms, stockyards,
and  such,
but if you ever saw how they raise veal you may
want to re-consider buying Veal.
Unless you do it yourself,  it seems most in-humane to me.
and I'm a guy that has nothing against large chicken farms
full of cage raised chickens.
My only knowledge is of Idaho raised Veal at Dairy farms, so it may
not be industry wide, but seems to be a little over the top.
